commodore 64 vs the spectrum

dingle berry from on a small plastic chair breathing fire on 2002-01-10 18:21 [#00068116]

whats it to be the commodore or the spectrum??

Jarworski from Wales on 2002-01-10 18:40 [#00068123]

SPECTRUM!!!

Ceri JC from My house in Pontypridd, Wales, UK on 2002-01-10 19:00 [#00068130]

Ha ha, I remember this argument.
You: You've (Spectrum) got fuck all colours.
Me: You've (C64)got fuck all games

Ironlung from Dark Side of the Shroom on 2002-01-10 19:33 [#00068147]

yeah I have to go with the 64 also....

classic....hours and hours on that thing staring into the
blue....

You could hack so many games on to one floppy....

Anyone remember the game Wizard?

jand from Chelmsford, UK on 2002-01-10 19:42 [#00068152]

I could go on for years about how much the Spectrum had a
huge effect on Music in the UK....

Maybe, in the monring, I will....tis late, mine mind is
filled with Transquillisers and can't be arsed at the mo...

Anyhow, check the Drukqs font (on the CD) & Girl/Boy
Ep...some we all know obviously had a spectrum as well...

p.s. I have the TTF fonts of the Spectrum & ZX81...useful
for those retro feel websites (a la www.g3rm.org)...

Dirty Priest from Denmark on 2002-01-10 20:26 [#00068168]

Apparently, aphex twin won some geeky contest, who could
write a program that could get a spektrum to create sound?
quite cool. But i have the most heartfellt nostalgic
emotions towards the c64, tho. boy did i love that
thingie.....

Ceri JC from My house in Pontypridd, Wales, UK on 2002-01-10 22:25 [#00068212]

I remember when we were about 13 (before I'd heard Aphex
Twin) me and my friend were going to sample a spectrum
loading into a track!

dug creedy from yelsewhere on 2002-01-10 22:58 [#00068219]

Carter USM sampled the loading sound at the start of one
track. i think it was called 'a perfect day to drop the
bomb'.

football manager c. 1980 was the best game ever. 'you have
won the league. well done. You have been sacked.Sorry.'

Ceri JC from My house in Pontypridd, Wales, UK on 2002-01-10 23:32 [#00068220]

I remember when I was about 8 and my brother was revising
for his GCSEs I used to lie on his bed reading DC comics
whilst listening to Carter USM. Ah, those halcyon days.

I played an old Speccy game in my stereo the other day and
it sounded great. One side sounded really fuckin evil.

Harrier Attack was the best "sounding" game. Really short
and intense- like a song of the RDJ album.

I'm going to get my speccy tapes out of the garage to listen
to in the car :)

I was thinking how great it would be to drop a Speccy tape
into a set. It'd clear the floor in seconds!

Hey, you can drive around Barry with tha bad bwoys playing
it real loud and draw some stares.

Spectrum because you could open it up and perform autopsies
on it and the chip was good for electronics classes and
making..car alrms and other stupid stuff ..once you were
done you would go..but it could do so much more as a
computer!!!!!...

cant beat the C64 games though

Maybe I'm the only person who had an Amstrad CPC?

Not Speccy,...

Not C64,...

BUT AMSTRAD!!!!

Besides...they were all the same games for the Amstrad, the
C64 and spectrum...

(And Alan Sugar owns/owned Amstrad aswell as Spurs. He
looked like Noel Edmunds!!!)

Speccy! Speccy! Speccy!

Driller was *the* most impressive game I played on the
speccy. Slower that a really corny shit but still amazing.
Takes a lot to beat Wheelie though :) Anyone remember that
one?

Indeed, "amstrad" stood for Alan Michael Sugar TRADing,
believe it or not :)

society - museums!

Gameplay beats many of todays games which you will often now
see in "PREOWNED" sections of high street shops.
