I saw 3 documentary's on the weekend with Warp music. I've
often posted here about these so must compile a total list
at some stage. Ch4 is the biggest culpirt but BBC seems to
be catching up. Usually its done with documentarys and its
usually when the feeling is sombre or haunting.

Heres the 3 i noticed:

1. BBC2
- A WW2 D-day doc on Saturday features Autechre during some
tank batttle footage! I think it was a tri-repetae track

2. BBC2
- last night, a doc on Micheal Hoffman, "The Man Who Forged
America". Featured a number of BoC "Geogaddi" tracks during
footage of bleached-out 80's mid-western american sunshine.
It was great.

3. BBC2
"Artist At War"... last night. A doc following an
impressionist painter visiting Israel and Palestine to
research his latest project. It featured Squarepushers
"Tundra" - just the melody - as he gazed over the wartorn
Gaza Strip. Pretty cool.

cool.

do you know which tri rep track? i reckon clipper's a great
tank track. maybe more of a stealth bomber track.

BoC always seem to feature in documentaries about
paedophilia, murder and other evildoings. weird.

Documentaries & their trailers are the most regular exposure
I have to Warpsounds, other than my own music collection, of
course.
It's usually something about war, disease, deformity,
surgery, rape, death, drugs etc..

I'm sure I started a similar thread ages ago when inspired
by a similar spate of docu-trailer-warpery.

They must have a guy in TV center. Sneaky git.

Best one ever was Chaos AD's "dreaded pestulance" for some
horror stuff... or Drukqs piano tracks for Any Warhol doc.

i've noticed boc/plaid in a lot of the home improvement
style shows here, and i don't even watch much tv.

i still think idm, in some form or other, will become
somewhat well known and popular in the next year or two.
i'm expecting lots of shitty aphex ripoffs to be 'whats in',
though.

i remember watching a pretty horrible documentary (BBC i
think) about "surviving in the jungle" with reinactments of
Vietnam flashbacks - the soundtrack, was SAW II i think they
must have almost played all the tracks, ...

"Kid for Today" was on a BMW advert which I found upsetting

The guys who wrote "energy warning" promoting cars, a
shame:(

still love em though

I think the BBC must have a contract with Warp to use their
catalogue as background/incidental music, because it pops up
all over the place on the BBC in a wide range of program
types.

it's funny, i've always thought that tri-repetae (and
especially garbage and anvil vapre) totally resembled modern
warfare...

in the documentary about the Weather Underground, they use
the first track from SAW2 (disc 1, track 1)... of all the
tracks that they could've chosen from SAW 2 this was
probably the most unsuited and inappropriate...

tell them you know me and I'll let them have it for half the
price...I'll even sell them your music...I'm quite flexible
and the law doesn't concern me. :D!
