Rephlex 'Grime' CD Delayed?

The Rehlex records Grime compilation was supposed
to get it's CD release yesterday, two weeks after the vinyl
hit the shops.
I went round Nottingham's independant record stores
yesterday, but no one seemed to have a copy. They all knew
about it, but no one could tell me why they didn't have it
in stock. There can't have been a delay on all Rephlex
releases, because I managed to find the CD edition of
Kerrier District, which was also due yesterday.
There doesn't seem to be any news on Warp or Rephlex about
it, so maybe it's just a localised thing? Did anyone else
find this when they went to buy the CD? Did anyone who had
it on order from Warpmart receive it yesterday as planned?

I'm sure the Rephlex crew were just too busy smoking crack
to load up the lorry. But I'd be interested to see if this
was a UK-wide thing, or Nottingham-only.

morning acrid milk man.

i pre-ordered from warpmart, and received the cd - this is
gonna kill you - last thursday.

i love those warpmart guys, they're so efficient. maybe they
sprinkle speed in their crack, whereas the rephlexers take
it straight and just sit around baked all day.

yeah. I wondered if that was the case. Mart preorders
usually ship early. I would have ordered from Warp myself.
But the shelf price in a couple of the record stores here is
likely to be less than I'll pay Warp, BEFORE postage.
Must just be laziness in getting the CD out to the shops,
not a problem with the actual release itself.
I can wait.
Thanks for the information though.. it didn't kill me
by-the-way.

well i'm glad to hear that.

the cd will kill you though, with its gargantuan low end and
hard-as-nails beats. enjoy.

do you have the bug's album?

killer// sleep with the big gun under me pillow

that track is heavy

i heard the distributors ( the people who supply the records
and cds rephlex manufacture) put the release back to next
week - but warpmart have them early - + a load of rephlex
stuff at £5.99 too

Yeah, just spoke to someone in a record store here on the
phone and they confirmed it.

Clearly it's the distributors that have been smoking crack.

"Clearly it's the distributors that have been smoking

"

That's commonplace with 2 step/garage distros :P

tango: when shelf price for a brand new copy is a tenner,
that's hardly a bargain, is it?

ceri: agreed.

Did anyone else find it a kinda conservative release for
Rephlex?...They seem to have chosen tracks that wouldn't be
out of place as 1990s 'ardkore B-sides..

Like Jungle never happened...

I like it, although I agree it doesn't seem like a "Rephlex
release". My main gripe is the difference in tracklistings
between vinyl & CD copies (and the lack of information
pointing this out at warpmart). Only standout track on the
CD copy, "Dub Weapon" isn't on the 12" release.

How different are the tracklistings Ceri?

At least 3 tracks are different and the order is slightly
different. I just mailed warp about it as I notice they list
the tracklisting as the same on both and other people may
buy the 12" copy only to find theri fav. track is missing.

A variation of Garage that is actually good.

East London stuff with an edgey, dark mood to it.

i'm surprised people aren't more enthusiastic about this, i
think it's a great release. perhaps a little more club
orientated than IDM listeners are used to.

plasticman's tracks are a bit too simple IMO (anyone else
recognise those fruity loops buzz generators?!) but
markone's are sheer class, extremely well produced.
slaughter mob got some wicked riddims too.

im more excited about.... bees. Bees are small and yellow
and black and fuzzy. They cant take off on their own, they
need a buoyant surface to fall from such as a petal. That is
why you see bumble bees on the pavement. They cannot fly
off. Pick them up and throw them in the air and they will
fly off. Here ends todays reading.

in the name of the father
and the son
and the holy spirit
amen

heart.
Thankyou Mr. Triplet.
