Sorry, I was off making music :) Playing around with vintage drum machine samples today and I made a nice 2 bar 2-step pattern on my drum machine in the garden this afternoon. Started an ambient track called "Fog" which I made as it was foggy when the sun came up- really damp too, I had the window open and was worrying about my gear. I've done lots of what I'd class as "musical work" too- multi sample mapping instruments, getting to grips more with midi. Set up a Floops dashboard to allow automation of VST parameters that you cannot normally control (except by midi) and then getting the best of both worlds by linking the phat boy to that. I got about 3 hours sleep towards noon and have been up doing music since (lots of little bits and loops/synth patches/techniques/etc. rather than whole tracks). On the one hand it's annoying I have nothing "postable" to show for it, but on the other, I've got good starts to 2 new acid tracks, some danceable housey stuff as well as a novelty Latino one too. I'm off to bed now... well tired and I'm finding it hard to concentrate & my ears need a rest (been wearing closed back 'phones a lot of the time) BTW Good to see you hevquip. |
