as im going to leave my country for a year ( as planned ) im going to rip all albums i have to take all my music as mp3, to have it where im going. its going to take approximately over 50 cd-r's, so i need advice - how to do this ? gather cd's by artists, labels ? albums, ep's or lp's ? sort it by genre or year ? really dunno.... |

yeah but what if one artist will take one cd-r + ( let's say ) 100mb of second cd-r. should i leave the rest 600 mb clean ? and if no - how to mark them ? |

i can't remember any names, but i've seen some excellent software that help you catalogue and recall an mp3 collection to cdrs. i'll look. if possible, i'd find a friend with a dvd-r and burn them onto those. |

i have a firend who can do this, but i personally dont have drd-rom. so only simple cd-r's must do the thing |

I have a good idea! Make folders, each of a size under 700mb. If you have over 700mb of one artist make the folders like so. Autechre Music #1, Autechre Music #2. This way you can have some entire CDs of one artist and others with many! |

yeah, so youre saying that if lets say, artist A will take 1 full cd and a half on second Cd, should i leave the second CD written in a half ? that will take twice more than 50 CD's ! |

i wonder if there's a clever algorithm for grouping clusters as near 700 as possible from a large collection of folders... |

dude, get a dvd burner - seriously, 600mb is too small, 4.7 gig makes things way easier. less discs, too. |

make all your folders then put them on CD! They should all fit in nicely, maybe 1 folder for 1 CD then 3 or 4 folders for another CD. |
