Archrival on 2002-01-13 19:55 [#00069231]

If its real then im not that impressed, nothing classic, not
even classic BOC material.

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-01-13 19:57 [#00069232]

boardsofcanada.com is a great website...IMO

not a bunch of flash and useless information...

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-01-13 19:57 [#00069233]

is the track playing on the site a new geodaddi track?

Archrival on 2002-01-13 19:58 [#00069235]

yeah, and its mad nice.

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-01-13 19:59 [#00069236]

yea, old fuzzy BoC sound =)...ahhh

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-13 20:00 [#00069237]

yeah the tracks playing on the site are really cool...

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-01-13 20:01 [#00069238]

once again, Archrival, we are probably one of like all of 5
people in all new york who would feel a track like that and
have gangstarr in our stereo's...

Sgt Growley from UK on 2002-01-13 20:18 [#00069246]

Yeah what was Ken talking about. None of those tracks have
been released before.
Maybe he confuses Gyroscope with Zoetrope?

Archrival on 2002-01-13 20:36 [#00069249]

My friends always pickin on me tellin me that I should stop
listenin to Aphex Twin (that it hurts my ears etc etc).

They got nothin but love for BOC though, even my Pharcyde,
Roots, Gang Starr, A Tribe, De La, Kool Keith pumpin friends
likes BOC.

Archrival on 2002-01-13 20:37 [#00069251]

Maybe AFX is too extreme (sometimes), BOC is more soft and
mellow.

Archrival on 2002-01-13 20:41 [#00069253]

"we are probably one of like all of 5 people in all new york
who would feel a track like that and have gangstarr in our
stereo's"

LOL :)!! Yeah I AGREE Xanatos!

Archrival on 2002-01-13 20:43 [#00069255]

Im both a "idm" and a "hip hop" head.

Its would be funny to go to a Aphex concert with NIN fans
(what a culture CRASH).

BRIDUV from USA on 2002-01-13 20:46 [#00069256]

Kool Kieth is the shit...ive wanted to see him live for a
while
its a strange transition from popping in afx...then to kool
kieth but eh..

BRIDUV from USA on 2002-01-13 20:48 [#00069257]

actually rdj and kool kieth do have a common bond...their
pervertedness spans the culture gap

BRIDUV from USA on 2002-01-13 20:55 [#00069258]

broadcasting from MD....
unfortunalty not too many good artist know this state
exsists...aside from the once great Scott Henry

Caserol Joe the Chubby from Minneapolis on 2002-01-13 21:03 [#00069260]

I'm feelin the BoC loop, and Gangstarr is in my book of
commonly listened to CDs. I have multiple friends who
listen to both idm and good hip hop. And this is in
Minneapolis, so I'm sure there are plenty of NYers you can
relate to!

BRIDUV from USA on 2002-01-13 21:09 [#00069262]

No one around here really listens to anything other than
pop...its sad but then i am greatful that they have never
had the pleasures of IDM more specifically rdj..they would
not understand.the general public are nither ready nor
worthy in my opinion

BRIDUV from USA on 2002-01-13 21:12 [#00069263]

or rather perhaps too scared to admit to themselves...to
scared of the conseqences of listnening to music that is not
featured on TRL....the conseqences being intelligent
thoughts

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-01-13 21:30 [#00069269]

I have a lot of friends into good hip hop, but I'm really
having trouble meeting hardcore electronica heads like
myself even in the big city...

that's partially why I'm on this site so much

BRIDUV from USA on 2002-01-13 21:42 [#00069274]

ditto..

Caserol Joe the Chubby from Minneapolis on 2002-01-13 22:05 [#00069286]

Yeah, anybody who doesn't like the music you like is a
moron. Get over it. As it turns out, the ratio of assholes
to people I enjoy spending time does not differ with musical
taste. I know plenty of good folk who may be more
intelligent than you (not an insult, just a point that you
aren't neccessarily smarter than the pop fans). Music is an
emotional thing, not an intelligence thing. People who
dislike IDM don't find it to comnplex or whatever you think
it is, they just don't relate to the emotional content.

Caserol Joe the Chubby from Minneapolis on 2002-01-13 22:06 [#00069287]

third sentance should end with "who listen to weak (imo)
music"

BRIDUV from USA on 2002-01-13 22:10 [#00069290]

I agree completly, but it is my belief that they are afraid
of emotions that the music would inspire...so they dismiss
it as shit. so they are not true to themselves.

BRIDUV from USA on 2002-01-13 22:12 [#00069291]

it is either real art or art magic...(not an original
thought by me) if it does not inspire or compell a change
then it is meaningless in my eyes

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-01-13 22:13 [#00069292]

^ Disagree, they are not afraid of the emotions, they are
just inexperienced and go along with the norm. People do
not accept change well, and often follow the masses. If it
doesn't have a guitarist and a vocalist, they won't listen,
if the beat doesn't have someone rapping over it or a female
vocalist, they won't give it a chance.

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-01-13 22:13 [#00069293]

move that arrow up one post, I don't disagree with what you
said there...

BRIDUV from USA on 2002-01-13 22:14 [#00069294]

which leads back to my point that if it isnt what they are
accostumed to then they dont give it a chance...

ads on 2002-01-13 22:17 [#00069297]

has the track from soleseek the one your all going on about
got flutes and bongos playing behind the beats because if it
has it is definetly genuine because i got a copy of the
vinyl promo--the one with the turqouise hexagon sticker
on...

BRIDUV from USA on 2002-01-13 22:20 [#00069300]

People are afraid...it was said best by Ivanna the topless
psycic when she said that "only through confrontation can we
reach resolution'
but the initiative is not takin by the common
person...therefor i dont expect them to ever
understand...nor do i see them caring that they could never
understand that "crazy noise"

BRIDUV from USA on 2002-01-13 22:21 [#00069304]

they are content farmers. (also not an original thought)

ad from ?? on 2002-01-13 22:42 [#00069315]

please answer my question!!!!!!!!!!

Caserol Joe the Chubby from Minneapolis on 2002-01-14 00:57 [#00069431]

I agree that it's silly not to consider the emotions of
music that is not popular, but I just except that people are
silly and that they still may be great people to be with,
despite their denials.

Caserol Joe the Chubby from Minneapolis on 2002-01-14 01:01 [#00069432]

And my original point was it is emotional issues that make
people lsten to the music they do, not intelligence, right?
That was all I was trying to say. Pop folk may have some
emotional denials, but are not neccessarily unintelligent.
But we all have our own denials anyway.

Monoid on 2002-01-14 01:59 [#00069455]

Yes AD !

Archrival on 2002-01-14 07:38 [#00069597]

yeah

Archrival on 2002-01-14 07:39 [#00069598]

Music is math

Music is intelligence

Music is understanding

Music is Feelings

Kalaim Badkaama from France on 2002-01-14 07:59 [#00069603]

Music is dreams...

Well, it's close of "Music is feelings".

"We are the music makers... and we are the dreamers of
dreams"
