broadcast are amazing-the noise made by people is a fantastic album, they're fantastic live and are one of the rare few live bands around that are really cutting it sonically. jesus theres a track of theirs off 'the come on lets go' ep called chord perfect, which is so lush it brings a tear to your eye. spoke to the guitarist at a stereolab gig in brum the other month and he says the band hope to get a new album out by september.
the only reason the last album didnt get more acclaim is because warp are a bunch of old dinosaurs who not only poach already signed acts-afx/plaid/broadcast/squarepusher etc but market wise couldnt promote a cure for cancer. shame, because they were once cutting edge, but other labels have taken over them in a shorter space of time.
thats my warp rant over with
yep if you see any broadcast in any sale anywhere-pick it up. your ears will not be disappointed.

everything they've done is top notch. first album was amazing but they blew me away with the last one they put out. singles are worth picking up also. I guess I would call them space pop. female vocals that are very lush and there is a lot of stuff going on in the background giving the music a great deal of depth. I suppose they would fall somewhere close to stereolab but broadcast is much more exciting. they are one of my favorite bands right up there next to American analog set.

eh? live in the present? not sure what you mean by that! naH, im not bitter,-i just think its a shame that a once great label has let itself go and put out some dodgy material from some i just know that warp treat there artists like shit-i know that for a fact cuz ive a mate who used to be a web editor for them-they refused to give scott heron (prefuse 73) half off the money they promised him, so he couldn't even get the equipment to finish the album-then they fucked about with the track listing.eeuurrggh.
aphex hates warp, i know that tom jenkinson cant wait to leave, autechre (well mainly sean booth) dictate what warp should/should not release-if they dont get their own way they threaten to leave etc etc, they dont market their records to reach to the majority-they simply rely too heavily on the idm community in my opinion-you'd be suprised at how many units warp actually sell-it's not much. now that robs died it'll be interesting to see where they go. no respect to warp-theres probably nobody who contributes to this site that the label hasnt touched-i just think their gradually losing it.

korban-get this album its amazing. its got amazing production-sounds similar to brian wilson pet sounds era-sounds a bit like usa's 1969 album, and a bit like eno -sort of. hard to sum up. it is fantastic though-they are far superior to stereolab and the lyrics are beautiful-like having warm treacle poured down your back...erm...yeah. you can get it quite cheap at the moment as well-think i saw it in hmv for 5.99

no worrie mate, they also have a 'mini' album on warp called work and non work-a compilation (along with a new track) of old hard-to-find ep work they put out on sterelabs duophonic label.if you get the 'noise made by people' cd and dig that, id look into getting this compilation as well which features the fantastic 'message from home'-stunning stuff mate, you wont be disappointed-:)
