I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned yet.

Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams... Probably the first piece of
music I head as a kid that actually helped me appreciate
'music'.

Pauld Hardcastle - 19
Visage - Fade to Grey
Propaganda - Machinery
Freur - Doot Doot (early underworld)
Lil Louise - French Kiss
Mike Oldfield - Foreign Affair

but my fav, the best is always the same: What time is Love
(original acid mix) by KLF. This track opened my doors to
acid/techno/electronica...

I have to say "respect" in a very macho accent for Woofer
mentioning not only the sublime Propoganda (Jewel, their
cover of Josef K's "Sorry for Laughing" and their excellent
remix album "Wisful Thinking"), and Lil Louie, but also for
mentioning the original version of "What time is Love?" by
the KLF which, for me too, changed the way I thought about
music.
