Neuromancer news??

dislodge from Canada on 2001-02-19 19:55 [#00000079]

Any news on Chris Cunningham and Aphex Twin teaminging up
again for this film??

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-19 19:57 [#00000080]

I have unsuccesfully tried to contact the neuromancer.org
webmaster for several times now...no replies...Anyone?

think from lincoln,ne usa baby !!!!!!!! on 2001-02-20 01:54 [#00000093]

shiftace from Over there on 2001-02-20 05:27 [#00000100]

A couple weeks ago there was some talk of this on
alt.music.aphex-twin, but no agreement. A couple people
said Rich and Chris left the project, a couple people said
they're still on it. Whatever that all means.

In the meantime, anyone who hasn't read Neuromancer really
ought to go read it, it's a real good book.

i'd like to know what the deal behind this is too. it does
sound CC and RDJ have always had a bit of a secrecy thing
going on behind their projects, no problem personally for me
because i think that sort of mystery can be magical. (even
RDJ's current hybernation.)

well i think this would be a natural for them to work on...
imagine CC designing some more mechanical automatons too,
not necessarily robots but y'know. Mr. Gibson would be
proud.

most fascinating thing, William Gibson doesn't even use
computers regularly and the Internet even less, so i've read
in several online interviews... how's that for irony?

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-20 07:34 [#00000106]

Just got an e-mail from 'Woompeh'. He/she was telling me
that they were working on this project "like hell", but it
has currently stagnated a little...

All this are just rumours, but maybe our discussion could
bring stuff alive again?

Torley Wong from Vernon, BC, Canada on 2001-02-20 08:24 [#00000111]

who knows, maybe William Gibson himself in an exceedingly
rare trance of Internet whimsy may stumble upon our
discussion and crack the whip on the backs of these two fine
artists... tee hee hee. :o)

kidtrash from Santa Fe,NM on 2001-02-20 16:46 [#00000131]

I really would be surprised if they are still considering
the project after all this time. Why bother announcing
something at all if you never get started?

However, they could be almost done and we wouldn't even know
about it. That's the way Aphex seems to work. Just imagine
the things he's been doing to keep himself busy!

SWAI from Denmark on 2001-02-20 18:44 [#00000132]

look at imdb.com for a project called "drummer" by chris
cunningham
wouldnt it be weird if he was working on two projects?
imdb didnt know of neuromancer !

CyberPfunk from Japan on 2001-02-21 10:24 [#00000157]

WOW the Twin and Gibson!
What a great combination that would be.
If it's true I can't wait to see it.

If you haven't read all of Gibson's work, you should. If
you're new to 'cyberpunk' the book"Mirror Shades" is a good
starter. It's collection of short stories compiled by Bruce
Sterling. It features Gibson as well as many other
'cyberpunkers'.
Great stuff

Of course I don't need to encourage you to listen to brother
James and CC so...

I've been to imdb.com and Richard is listed as the composer
of the original soundtrack of Cunninghams new movie
"Drummer". Wicked.

Torley Wong from Vernon, BC, Canada / WWW.TORLEY.COM on 2001-02-21 18:55 [#00000178]

i'm optimistic like the rest of you and hope this isn't
forged, incorrect data (which i've seen entered into IMDB a
number of times before). the URL is:

http://us.imdb.com/Credits?0267450

and no other info is really listed... strange... except for
the word "monkey" under the "plot keyboards" section.

curiouser and curiouser?

Torley Wong from Vernon, BC, Canada / WWW.TORLEY.COM on 2001-02-21 20:01 [#00000183]

ooops... "plot keywords". my err.

Trafe on 2001-10-09 16:27 [#00039745]

This is the oldest thread of v.5!!!!

Man I is bored.....

Whatever happened to Torley Wong?

Agguire on 2001-10-09 16:54 [#00039751]

Trife, you're an idiot, just because it was last doesn't
mean it's the oldest, people respond to a topic and it moves
up, the oldest topic is "Welcome To The New Messageboard."
You're a stupid bitch.

Narkotic from California, USA on 2001-10-09 17:57 [#00039774]

Yeah but its a good example of how busy Phobia is for us, he
rarely ever contributes to the messageboard anymore. :(

Hurby on 2001-10-09 18:00 [#00039777]

Phobia is busy working on getting that K-Mart manager job,
leave him be.

Narkotic from California, USA on 2001-10-09 18:02 [#00039778]

its strange how there is always someone completely new
replying to messages, or its just someone with yet another
name...

Skull Master Death Bones on 2001-10-09 18:06 [#00039783]

It is strange, isn't it.

recycle from drukqs on 2001-10-09 22:18 [#00039825]
