My town sucks, I am the only one in this place that has ever even heard of Aphex Twin! Eveybody is saying things like "linkin park is the best band ever" so I slap them and say "your a fucking idiot, the only way you should ever say something like that is if youve never heard of Aphex Twin"... and of corse the reply is "Who's that?" And what's even worse i cannot get my hands on any aphex twin stuff, no CDs, no shirts, nothing... It's horrible, and on top off that I dont have a credit card so I cant get it off the computer. So I have taken desprate measures, ive written the aphex twin symbol on a black shirt with bleach. Sad, isent it? I have to get the music from the internet or else i would never hear them. So if any Aphex Twin fans who live in Rockford, Illionis contact me... I lost in a world without Aphex twin... |

i know what you mean, most of the kids i go to school (college) with haven't a clue about afx, much less some of his more "obscure" (pfft) peers. btw, don't you think linkin park's "crawling" (during the verses, not the chorus) sounds a little like afx? kinda reminds me of the SAW1 stuff. you should tell them that, it wouldn't be lying. anyway, here're 2 tips for acquiring afx cd's. 1. ask your local record store to ORDER the albums. they will, and it's free. all of them except for "selected ambient works 85-92" and "classics" (as well as some singles and ep's but don't worry about them) are commercially available in the US (and the 2 i mentioned will be available in march). you'd have to wait a few days, maybe even a couple weeks, but then you'd have them. 2. all the major online music retailers (cdnow, amazon, bn, ebay) take MONEY ORDERS. no credit card needed. you just go to your post office or seven-eleven and pay 40-90 cents plus the amount the cd('s) cost and send it off to the business or person you're buying it from. once they receive the payment they'll ship it to you. quite easy. i did it for YEARS before getting a visa checking (debit) card. i hope this helped and never stop telling people about aphex twin! you'll doubtless get converters if you just play them some of the music you like. it's not for everyone, but i'm sure some of your friends would like it as much as you do. cheers! |

that's strange because everytime i hear the name aphex twin more and more often from people i'd never expect it. i also get to hear a lot of Aphex twin's music as background for many sort of promos. MTVla uses icct hedral (philip glass one) for a celebrity deathmatch promo. |

Make your own t-shirt without inhaling bleach fumes by prinitng off images from web or cut out from mags & take to a shop with t-shirt printing facilities. They should be able to scan your images onto a t-shirt. Shouldn't cost too much either, prob less than official merchandise. Or use paint. My brother painted the plasticman logo onto a baseball hat. I have Kylie's face on my underpants.. |

OH MY GOD! Rockford?! Sweet Jesus! I'm sorry to hear that. i had to actually GO to rockford once*shudders*, for buisness. I mean albsolutely no offense to YOU by this, but rockford is a shithole man. i remember the 90 minute(with NO traffic) drive from chicago. As soon as you pass schaumburg on I-90 there are NO EXITS. for about an hour. When i finally got to your town, I was greeted quite rudely by one of your hick officers, asking just what the hell i was doing there. And then, you dont know whether youre going to get shot by the gangsta-G-money-thug-lifes or lynched by the rednecks. BIZARRE! Aphex? got a car? come down to chicago, where Aphex and all other IDM flows like wine! and bring lots of money, so you dont have to come back! we dont like yer kind 'round these parts! |
