Are You joking man ?
Why do You ask such question.
The Orb and Orbital are both electronic KEY artists.

dug creedy from yelsewhere on 2002-01-08 16:33 [#00067357]

ORB (ital) is the best.

Jock from Glasgow on 2002-01-08 17:02 [#00067366]

Orbital is our music, but everyone knows dads music is best
so ORB gets my vote

I was thinking about getting The Orbs Adventures Beyone the
Ultraworld... but is it any good? I know it's a classic and
all, but really, is it any good?

be sure to get the 2 disc version of adventures; the import
version.
and i agree it is by far the best orb available. everything
of theirs i listened to after that was kinda disappointing.
i liked a few tracks here and there but mostly... bluuuughhh

album for orb newbies

I love them both. But still, Dr. Alex Paterson was the one
who gave amient/techno its name. The Orb is a pioneer in the
ambient move. Orbital is a different style. Orbital is not
even ambient...Is like techno combined with some
organic/sampled sounds, I love that,love what they
do,really. But my favorite is still Lx Patersons project....

yeah I'm gonna get The Orbs Adventures... it's actually in a
store here, the double album... but I have another question,
is he actually a doctor? Or is it just a name, kinda like
Dr. Dre...

that new orb album was fuckin terrible. UGH! then again so
was the new orbital album (sigh). but if you compare album
to album, qualitywise orbital wins everytime except maybe
the first orb album vs. the 2nd worst orbital album, the
middle of nowhere. but the first 2 orbital albums and in
sides are undeniable classics, and their album snivilisation
was an interesting experiment in rock sounds (much better
than the uninspired crap on the new cd).

revpersona on 2002-01-09 14:38 [#00067657]

Actually Disc 2 from The Alltogether was great. All those
quality B-sides.

Quote earlier "Satan, Satan, Satan" came originally from a
Buthole Surfers song. Though its real origins may be lost in
the fires of the inquisition.

Anyway early Orb is the best...no Orbital is..no the Orb...
Orbital..aagh, my head "boom"

phiz from Amsterdam on 2002-01-09 15:09 [#00067662]

it was the Orb that got me into this electronic music
malarkey, Adventures beyond the Ultraworld is still an
absolute monster, so too UFORB and the Peel Sessions.
if you get the chance check out the Orb Soundsystem, for
true sonic madness, i dare anyone to stand in front of the
speaker stacks while towers of dub is playing.

and, a new Orb DVD has just been completed, Orbus Aquarium,
should be good.

evolume from at work in bothell, north of seattle, USA on 2002-01-09 16:39 [#00067699]

yeah,
come to think of it the orb kinda got me into electronic
music too... well the orb and LSD

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-09 19:04 [#00067761]

i always wondered, what's the name of the butthole surfers
song they took the sample from?
