***New Policy***

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-01-08 04:35 [#00067163]

As we slowly approach the 6000 AphexTwin.nu Message Board
topic, I feel it is time that we slow down with the new
topics, especially the huge repeats.

I've always been a big fan of bringing back some 3000 thread
old topic to the front, but I've more importantly been a fan
of the search box.

So, for example, I recently saw Monkey Drummer so instead of
making a new post entitled "Monkey Drummer is cool!", I
simply searched for one of the past topics and brought it up
to the top.

So from now on, starting with this thread, if you want to
talk about Chris Clark, search for him! If you want to
bitch about or praise drukqs, do it on one of the old
topics. Add to old top 10 lists! Ask not what the Message
Board can do for you, but what etc. etc.

Lets clean up this place, for us, for our children, and for
our children's children, who will probably have four arms.

This has been a paid endorsement brought to you by
someone with too much time on his hands.

Don't people with 56k modems have to wait a LONG time for
shit to load, though? Even with my DSL, the Ravers topic
takes some time to come up.

**the indian (native american:P) sees another new thread
titled 'boards of canada' pop up...sees that its content is
identical to the 'boards of canada' threads that have come
before it, becomes teary eyed**

yeah I have cable, and it still takes a while for me to load
the ravers page... took me forever to post all those
messages... :)

wayout from a plastic bubble on 2002-01-09 00:21 [#00067485]

i propose another new policy:
a limit to only 3 backslashes per name
if 4 is absolutely nessisary...then i suppose we could
negotiate...but no more than 4!!

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-01-09 05:21 [#00067579]

TKR: Please chill with the backslashes, they make posts
really annoying to read. Even more annoying than most of
you people's comments usually are. J/K

Narkotic from stupid american on 2002-01-09 13:57 [#00067652]

if you guys have been around long enough, you would have
noticed that when you use the " ' " character(apostrophe) in
the location/name, the board has a bug where it will put a
grip of slashes in it.

Ouakha from the heart o'the world on 2002-01-09 14:08 [#00067653]

Yeah, I've noticed that.

Before I did I thought it was someones idea of a joke

I think I'll start another topic called "***new policy***"
and then say basically the same thing.

Maybe phobiazero will even give me a hug. *sniff*

Xanatos then according to your policy..shouldn't you should
have the thread called *This Messageboard* dealing with the
issues of extraneous thread and brought up your idea on that
one rather than starting up a new thread?

flea, notice I made this thread several months before the
other thread. I just bumped this thread to the top (USING
THE SEARCH TO FIND IT, MIND YOU), in response to E-man's
thread, This Messageboard.

i don't think it wil work. there is a lot of repitition on
this board, but that may be why this board stays strong. we
cover so much shit on this board that its hard not to repeat
things. you should just stick with the threads that
interest you, new threads. i dunno. all i know that no
matter how reputitious and posibally dull this mb could get.
i will still be a part of it.
cheers.

i agree with cleaning this place up for our children, but
not our children's children because children shouldn't be
having sex

you guys stop being mean to Xanatos! I may be a lurker, but
I know that Xanatos is the coolest. He saved the 'Britney
Spears' post from degrading our children's supple young
minds; he knew when to pull out of the 'I want to have
boards of canada's butt-baby' post right before Rephlex got
mad & hurty.... where would we be without him, I ask?!?! To
this day, NO ONE else here can claim the right to
Archrival's nut, sweat, and tears.... The Baron himself told
me (in confidence- sorry Baron!) that Xanatos inspired him
to pave his aura.... now how can you fuck with that?

I dont know I kinda like the place the way it is..all the
threads are like conversations..there is a natural
uninhibited flow to them which will be lost if we started
cataloging and dating and filing everything appropriately..I
do believe that F.A.Q's and Search functions ave their place
but at the same time I cant get enough of talking about the
stuff we like and dont mind the umpteenth thread about
Drukqs or Come to Daddy..what does bug me though is 18 out
of the 20 top threads being about BoC

offline Clic on 2002-03-07 06:33 [#00115207]

When you put 'rules' or 'new policies' on something that is
supposed to be fun, it really just loses it's purpose. I do
agree with Flea though, haha, there are A LOT of threads
about BoC lately.
