i met some really nice people couple of days ago...and i like nice people :). currently i have so much shit on my mind (the lowest point of my life), that i just couldn't make myself to be in a good mood...normally i'd have fun, and well even if i'd be in a bad mood i'd be able to look like i have fun...but i couldn't even fake it this time - this ever happened to any of you?
can you forget all the shit and act like the happiest person, or at least not look too depressed? if yes, how do you do it? :)

that wouldn't surprise ma actually...we're all human, and i guess it's completly normal if you're not always happy...
what really bothers me is that those other nice people were having fun, and well, i just couldn't fit in...even tho i'd love to :(

you should meet me in real life, I'd rip your face off for looking at me the wrong way when I am in a bad mood :P
tolst: the situation you describe used to happen to me quite a bit and it is caused when you are evaluating life in general because instead of just losing yourself in the moment you stand there thinking "why am I standing here not enjoying myself, i don't fit in" which makes you feel more uncomfortable and it is just spirals then.

Odd as it sounds the only way to overcome it is to forget you where doing it in the first place. Small (or large) amounts of alcohol can help if you drink, if not then just make sure you keep going out regularly and you will start to just enjoy things again without constantly trying to find a reason for your exsistance :P
Often it is just a phase that most people go through and you will probably snap out of it soon, just make sure you don't let it get you down to much. :)

all this is releated to my work...there are much bigger issues here, but they're all work related. anyway, it can't go on like this for ever...when i sort all this shit out, i'll definitely take your advice, coz it sounds like a really reasonable one! thanks a lot!!

Certainly, but a lot of people make no effort to conceal it at all. Just because you're having a slightly off day doesn't mean you should bring everyone around you down/act like a moody git.

While it is possible to ask a mood, I think what Tolst is going through is a lot deeper than that. You almost have a surreal situation that, even when communicating with people, you are listening to yourself thinking "what am I talking about"...you get preoccupied in the way other people are interpreting your words and actions. It's not really a case of being in a bad mood, it is a case of not really feeling in any sort of mood and wondering why.

a) that should have been "mask a mood"
also just to add on I bet you you reply these meetings and stuff in your head repeatedly after they occur trying to figure out where the fuck you went wrong??? You have to stop doing that because you will always add your own negative meaning to something that the other party/parties involved will have taken as purely superficial.
Everything will straighten itself out in time.

yeah, replaying it in your mind is so horrible... can't stop doing it with loads of things.
I think I'm always analysing/evaluating my own and others' actions - its really annoying. Even when drunk I do it, but its sort of tongue-in-cheek then.
I think I've become quite good at masking my mood and holding back my aggression though, but it sort of makes me feel nothingness, like no one really knows me. Even if i do try to say how i feel, i can't put it to the right words, and people misunderstand.

hehe it happens, just don't worry about it. :)
I actually found that concentrating on projecting a false confidence rather than a good mood worked better because it allows you to feel more in control and allows your natural personality to come out.
Just keep putting yourself in the situations and you will discover your own best way of dealing with them.
That's all I will say on the matter because my brain now hurts from being sensible for 5 minutes.
