Just wondered if anyone had been playing the game. I think it's by far one of the best I've seen since FF XI (III in the States) in terms of storyline and gameplay. Limit Breaks have returned in the form of OVERDRIVE manuevers and as you progress through the game you can change the way your meter fills -- from taking damage, dealing damage, your allies dealing damage, healing Hp and so forth. The fact that they completely did away with the experience / level system is original and versatile -- allowing one to choose what they want to increase / learn. Graphically, this game nearly rivals the movie in terms of realism when it comes to CG's. And as for sound, nearly all of the game is well-voiced over, and the amount of dialogue surpasses that of the Metal Gear Solid series. With the return of classic FF classes, and combining the best elements of FF games, this game is a superior RPG. One problem though -- although there are many side quests such as finding hidden orbs, learning a new language, finding hidden summons and playing Blitzball (etc etc) much of the game is quite linear and there is NO world map to navigate unless you have the time to backtrack several hours just to get to early villages. All in all, it is a great game, but it can get a bit too "Point A to Point B" at many times. |

i don't think i was here for that....... i've been gone awhile. i know XBOX has a bunch of third-parties and that's all great, but the controls are shitty and I've seen nothing fantastic from it........ oops. I hope i didn't offend anyone. Sorry! :) |
