I want to know your nightmares

Before I go to sleep.

I rarely have a nightmare. When I do I always wake up. The
worst thing was a racoon that enered through the roof and
started running around and making noises. It made me think
some psycho entered the house. Still it wasn't a dream... I
was half-asleep.

I am planning to have nightmares tonight.

but thats when you wake up... or if you dream that you woke
up... it would be an atral projection. It is too hard to
accomplish it. a simple and vivid focus on having a
nightmare is what I am looking for.

I had a nightmare which consisted of seeing this guy in real
life (some sort of shootout - he was being filmed by media)
get shot in the head, I saw blood explode from the exit
wound on his face in slow motion.

A lot of nightmares don't sount very scary written down,
most of it is the scary FEELING you experience in the dream.
Turn the lights off and watch horror films all night before
you sleep.

Or get drunk before you =go to bed and make sure you're
overheated when you sleep, that will give you inghtmares

someone told me that you always dream at night it's just
that you don't always remember them.

i've heard it too but i don't believe it. i move when i
dream and i don't always move at night. i could explain it
so it makes sense but it's long and boring to explain

The part of your brain that records memories isn't
activated, which is why you don't remember it. A lot of the
time when you are 'put out' for something like a dental
operation, they just give you an amnesiac what makes it so
you don't remember what happened, even though you were
semi-condscious through the procedure. It's as if it
'didn't happen'.

i come to my house at night, open up the door, no lights
on...which i think is odd for some reason...i yell, "mom?"

right as that happens, a black shadow figure comes out of
the hall and walks toward me like the girl in the Ring.

i have honestly not had a happy dream in about 8 or 9 years.
the only dreams i ever have are nightmares or memories.
i have about 2 or 3 nightmares i remember every single week,
like clockwork the most reacurring one is of me, in a room
with no windows and white walls with no furniture, and i'm
on my hands and knees with a trashbag, i'm naked, and there
is blood and body parts everywhere, and i'm trying to pick
up all the body parts and put them in the trash bag as fast
as i can, even tho i'm positive i didn't kill the people.

I had a dream my father came to visit me in my apartment. He
showed up out of the blue, and the apartment was a mess. He
was really disappointed and only stayed for a bit. He was
really distant and scatterbrained, and kept talking on his
cell phone. Then he had to go, I walked with him down the
hall and asked for a hug but he didn't want to. "No, it's
okay," he said. Then he remembered he forgot something in
the apartment and as he passed me I hugged him and I heard
the sound of paper crumpling underneath his jacket.

I hate that dream. My dad moved out of my mom's house last
year, and since has kind of left my family. I miss him.

My dreams never take place in some fantasy setting. They're
all so mundane, everyday-sort of stuff that I feel really
exhausted after I have a night of dreams.

I never have them. The only one I can think of was when I
was 8 or 9, after my baby sister was born (I've told this
one before), and it was like in a mall or something. It was
all fine and I don't really remember what was going on, but
she was sitting there in the stroller and then she started
choking and gagging and her eyes protruded from her head
"Total Recall" style, and she died I assume.
That's about it.

I don't have nightmares very often either, but they're worth
it just for that excellent feeling when you wake up.

In films (movies) when people have nightmares, they sit bolt
upright when something in the nightmare jolts them out of
their sleep. This has never happened to me.

offline mappatazee from ¨y¨z¨| (Burkina Faso) on 2004-05-25 00:36 [#01205557]
Points: 14291 Status: Lurker

I've been jolted out of my sleep before, but that's usually
like if I fall off something or something hits me in the
face. Not a nightmare though. And the times I remember
that is usually when I'm just drifting off to sleep. It's
really weird.

another one i have every once in a while is that i'm in the
woods, and it's raining out really hard and i'm dragging
this body that's covered from head to toe in a white sheet,
for a really long time through leaves and around tall trees,
and trying to get it into the lake.
also... last july when my grampy died, i dreamed that i was
walking down a hall in some hospital and i saw these
doctors pushing him on one of those "death bed things" and i
can see he has a toe tag and i can tell he's dead.... so i
start crying and run into this room, and theres nothing in
the room but a big metal tub, and i walk over to it, and see
a little girl with blonde hair, and it looks like she's
dead, but then all of a sudden she opens her eyes reallllly
wide and says, "he's very fucking dead" while she's still
under water.
that was easily the scariest dream ever.

Every time a person's voice wakes me up (ie not my alarm) I
wake up with a sudden intake of breath, startled. Bot bolt
upright but my eyes open pretty fast.

My mum really hates waking me up when I sleep through my
alarm because she says it feels like she's really scaring me
every time she wakes me up awww.

*really quietly*
"Caaaaaal...... Caaaaaaal"
"UH!"

Do you ever get stuck asleep in the morning?

Like you're really barely conscious, and then you try to
wake up, but you can't move? It's really uncomfortable if
your face is in the pillow or something. It's happened on
rare occaision for a long time, since I was little.

Two short summaries of pre-Dad Visits dream (nightmare):

1. I kill my parents. Mother with a razor, father with a
bat. I woke up and cried.

2. Family dinner, dad stands up and pushes me out of my
chair. He proceeds to push me out of the house shouting "Get
the fuck out of here, Ross!" My name is Ross.

All of my nightmares lately have been like that. I miss my
old "Sesame Street Nightmare". It was a reoccuring nightmare
I had when I was a kid: I was on a rollercoaster ride
through Sesame Street only everything was scary.

Not to mention I get really motion sick on roller coasters.

The TITAN rollercoaster in SPACEWORLD Fukuoka, Japan, is
what my hell will be like.

i was walking with my brother trough a russian subway (only
the trains looked dutch)

anyway, we had to get out of there for some reason, everyone
was in total panic, i think because there was a radiation
leak in a power plant. so im standing there, waiting for the
train and some women tries to commit suicide by walking on
the tracks, waiting for a train to squish her. i tried to
make him (brother) look away from the gore fest but then i
woke up.

you know when its pretty dark but you can still see some
bits, theres this interference before your eyes (at least
for me), grainy spots as if you look at a movie shot with
grainy film. anyway i used to think those things were alive
and they'd come and throw me out of the window when i was
young. id always wake up screaming when my head hit a
lavender bush

it always was very vivid, and i had those dreams at least
once a week, but after some time i learned how to control it
- i guess i was able to dream lucid as a kid. a shame i cant
anymore, lucid dreams rawk.

YES AND IT FREAKS ME OUT.

I haven't had it for ages either but oh god it makes me a
little unsettled for the rest of the day. I get the
sensation that like.. You know how if you sleep on your arm
it goes numb coz there is no circulation? I feel like I'm
lying on my heart so there is no circulation to my entire
body. And I also can't breathe. I feel like I'm suffocating
and then I manage to panic enough to fully wake up and I
gulp huge lungfuls of air and start sweating like a
motherfucker.

OOOhhh nightmares.
i have one everynight, sometimes i fight off sleep so i wont
have them, although that makes me delerious and i start to
hallucinate my nightmares.

some common recurring ones are-

The half human stout waddling penguinish man with a huge
knife. i could be dreaming of anything and suddenly he comes
out of nowhere and stabs my face to death. what makes it
worse is that i can feel it and its quite painfull, when he
stabs me enough times i completely lose the middle part of
my face and then he starts stabbing down my sinus to my
throat where my nose used to be. whenever im having a dream
and i start to see him running up to me out of nowhere, i
try really hard to make it seem like a dream and i blink
allot to wake up.

Im swimming in an outdoor/indoor pool (either in some cases)
and there are dead bodies treading the water, their faces
and arms are dead and their eyes wide open (rotting faces
with water swellings) and their legs tread the water so they
stay eye level with me, whenever i swim past them i can hear
them come alive and laugh, its still been my goal to make it
out of the pool without one of them brushing up against me
(they catch up fast when im not looking)

i have daymares too, real hallucinations and voices manifest
into my daily life when im stressed out. this is ofcourse
because of my schizophrenia.

anyways, just wanted to get that out, i saw a thread about
nightmares and i had to post seeing as they are my obsession
to decode and understand.

They still dole out shit like contegin and stelazine for
that?
Yuck.

Anyway this is gonna sound weird but good luck with your
illness.
That's not mean to be patronising - I mean it.
