Have anyone here repaired their MiniDisc-players? There is
some connection problem at my HeadphoneOutput-thingy. Not a
big deal, but I wonder how expensive it will be. Should I
save the money, and buy me an Ipod instead?

I had a minidisc-player that exploded one day.. I sent it in
for repair, but it still didn't work after they had repaired
it. I trashed it, and now I use a discman.. much better. I
think you should save for Ipod or a regular discman, 'cause
EVERYONE I know that had minidisc-players haven't had them
for more than one and a half year before it went down...
always some battery and / or connection-problem...

..and about how expensive.. what did it cost, and how long
have you had it?

First I bought one of them Sharp hotties for 3000. I had it
for two years, and it suddenly the whole thing went to hell.
I thought I've been too "rough", and bought a Sony for 2200.
I have treated it carefully like a baby, but after two
years, I started to have these connection problems. I want
to buy an I-pod, but I'm kinda reluctant to pay big money
for things like this after these MD-incidents

Yeah i had a portable misi disc recorder, cost me about
£230 3 years ago.

It started fucking up my minidiscs resulting in loss of
early band and music demo's, which was fuckin gutting.

It then totally fucked up about 5 months ago, but luckily i
took out coverplan, which insured it, so i got the equvalent
of £300 dixons/currys/pcworld vouchers 3 years after
purchasing.

So i bought a new audigy plat pro soundcard and m-audio
controler keyboard.

Yipee

Mine was a constant shit until i got it replaced under same
said cover plan. My second one hasnt given me any gyp apart
from that time when i dropped it hard against a wall and
then accidentally stepped on it and then accidentally kicked
it out of the window of the top floor of the council flats
my girlfriend breeds in

yeah.. the Ipod will probably last longer than the MDs,
though.. less loose parts, and I don't think it uses those
crap-ass batteries.

Ok.. 2200 for two years.. then I think you'll have to pay
for the reparation yourself if you decide to do it (if it
was 4000, and two years, it would suggest that the MD should
last more than two years, and the fault could be assumed to
be the seller or factorys error (unless your shoeprints are
on the player), and they'd have to fix it free of charge..
nevermind any "insurances" and shit the shop sold you..
there ARE certain rules about shit like this... I've had a
6000,- cdplayer for four years, and when it broke, I could
take it back to the shop and have them fix it free of
charge.. they argued at first, but I literally threw the
lawbook at them, and they eventually gave in).
