has anyone here started using bit torrent yet? if not, you should give it a try, it is really great, especially for large files. you can get whole albums at a time. very nice!

It's also a great way to get new Linux ISOs when they've just been released and the FTPs are /.ed

I LOVE Bit Torrent. Anyone know some good, reliable Torrent sites, other than Suprnova? I have a big list of them, but 95% of them seem to be dead, and I don't feel like copying and pasting each and every one of them.
Here's an awesome one for NES clips and game heroics.

here for loads of currently televised anime, a bit of manga, and the odd anime soundtrack.
and yes, of course, suprnova.

you might want to try a different client eXXailon, im using azureus on a win2k machine with 128k memory and it is working very well. you will need the most recent version of jdk as well for that one since it is a java app.

yeah, but you should probably check the page you downloaded the files from. They often use codecs that aren't divx or avi-related, and name them avi anyway... it doesn't really matter to the programs.
otherwise, try media player classic

hmm.. try mediaplayer classic or VLC, then. If they can't play it, you should download the files from somewhere else.

be careful when getting movies and shows on bit torrent, i know 2 students who would have been sued by the RIAA for downloading episodes of futurama, if the college hadnt stepped in to protect them.
then again most of you live outside the US and dont have these same concerns :(

Man, I'm getting tired of these foreign film bittorrent files. I always get the video and the subtitles in seperate packages and haven't been able to patch them together with any program. Why can't they just slap solid the English subs on those flicks anyway? Bah.
