I took the test yesterday and got 60/70, which equates to
an IQ of 139.

Bow down to me.

nothing counts, unfortunately. Every sector of the planet
is suffused with ineptitude.

I'm reading Atlas Shrugged right now, and 80% of what she
says is "I'm better than everyone, who is patently
retarded"; what a shitty book, what an arrogant bitch

yeah IQ tests are lame

i was in the gifted track from 5th grade all the way to
highschool. let me confirm that IQ tests do gague
something, but it sure as fuck isn't intelligence. it
is utterly absurd to think that a method devised in the
1890s could accurately measure a person's intellect.

here's a bit from a short history of the iq test:

Recognizing that the Binet test had its limitations, both
Binet and Stern doubted IQ scoring actually represented a
fixed inborn quantity of intelligence. As Stern wrote in
1914: "No series of tests, however skillfully selected it
may be, does reach the innate intellectual endowment,
stripped of all complications, but rather this endowment in
conjunction with all influences to which the examinee has
been subjected up to the moment of testing."

IQ tests are pretty reliable tests (>90% test-retest
reliability, meaning that your score on any two tests of the
same type will correlate very well). But they're not tests
of intelligence, and they can't be tests of intelligence,
because we have no consensus definition of what intelligence
is.

For anybody with an in-depth interest in the history and
theory of intelligence testing, I recommend N.J.
Mackintosh's IQ & Human Intelligence. (Sneakattack: I think you'd
appreciate his approach as he comes from a psychology of
memory background, and so takes full account of such
factors).

into them... I think it's bullshit to think you can measure
a bunch of peoples intelligence with one test...

i don't have the energy for another mammoth debate. can
someone else please make long, pretentiously worded posts in
defence of psychometric testing on my behalf? thank you.

ok, in brief: IQ tests ain't great, but they're only as
flawed as any other method of assessment, eg. interviews,
SATs, academic tests, etc. they're all flawed, dammit.

perhaps his pronouncing module doesnt work properly, but
that doesnt necessarily imply that all his other cognitive
functions are lacking.
i do think he's mentally challenged though, or he must be
really smart to act that stupid in such a convincing way.
that said, the influence of the media also plays an
important role in the process.
who knows? but if i were an american, i wouldnt take the
risk.
