Yep... the suns finnally come out these neck of the woods
and last weekend saw the first of the main (illegal) raves.
Unfortunately i missed last weekends big one but here are
some snaps

I'm not pilling anymore, but that don't stop me mashing it
up. Last year i went to a few sans drugs and had a blast.
All ya need is some weed and a bottle of Buckfast - really
strong fortified wine brewed by monks. "Buckfast gets you
fucked fast".

The music is usually electro, techno and breakbeat. I've yet
to be to at an all electronica one although Maddog Wallace
did famously raid a beachparty a couple of years ago with
some Rephlex Disco Allstars and played some Aphex acid!
Also, last year, they got Keith Tenniswood to go to a
mountain rave. He played dirty electro - and some
squarepusher. Noice!

raves are for 26+ year olds who dont want to grow up and
realise theyre worthless shits. Oooh lets all take ecstasy
like it was 1994 again.

C'mon raves are a laugh, certainly better than sitting in
front of a PC wanking and listening to idm.

OR

raves are gatherings of people who enjoy similar music, the
outdoors and no restrictions. The folks i go to with raves
are more like post-ravers. Not into the pills so much
anymore but the friendly atmos, tunes and partying. It'd be
a shame if it was all about the ecstacy. I bump into a lot
of folks i've met over the years at raves.

Raves are amazing

I don't take drugs during it because i just don't. I don't
really want to do any of that. But the last rave i went to
(WIOH Xmas Rave) was amazing.

Roll on Glade i say!

The rave scene is the only *real* music scene going on in
the UK these days.

Big community - You could go anywhere in the country and
you'll see a lot of the same faces at any of the free
parties.

I tried going to one the halloween before last without
taking class A drugs, and I faded pretty early - Maybe a few
years ago I'd have had the energy.

I don't do pills any more.

Free parties are the only places you're likely to meet
decent people in these parts too - Clubs, bars and pubs are
usually: a) full of pricks; b) full on slags; & c) dull &
over-priced

field about 5 minutes away from my house but then the police
shut it down.

raves here suck. they're populated by teenagers (it's
termed the 'cool' thing to do, so 90% the teenage population
attend them) that take way too many pills, and the general
mentality is as low as my shoe size.

i'd be for them /if/ they played decent electronica. no,
instead, they like playing cheesy repetative techno with
really, really fucking annoying sound effects.

kill me.

i always thought buckfast was a scottish thing.....
all the street scum drink it up here.
oh yeah, and the "cool" wankers who drink it in certain bars
in glasgow to be totally ironic and "cool".
fuckin wanks.
on the subject of raves, there are quite a lot of them up
here, but they tend to be all pure (dave clarke/jeff
mills/ben sims) type techno.
However, theres a wee venue in town called the soundhaus, a
members only thing that stays open to really early in the
morning. they have some excellent bangin electro nights.
awesome. partied to the early hours watchin ed dmx one
night. twas great.........
