Anyone ever think that Richard will come forth with a high
quality album such as this again? I'm sorry, but I can only
stomach 4 or so songs on Druqks.

What are the chances...?

discuss?

i don't think so....but again, he said that he had hundreds
of songs similar to "bbhyonchord", which is not only the
best track on druqks, but it also reminds me of the
ICBYD-era.

Thats true. In all honesty, I think some of the best stuff
he's got is on the Caustic Window diddly dang.

But bbhyonchord was never really one of my favorite tracks,
but I see where your coming from.

I think one of the only reasons I actually bought Druqks was
for 54 cymru beats and Gwely Mernans.

qualified, no?

Ah! It was my first RDJ too!

I actually like Ventolin though, theres something soothing
in those brain scratching noises.

But my favorite track is "Come on you slags!"

Makes me think of....ninja's. DONT LAUGH.

calibre as "The Garden of Lin Miri" (Industro Garbage beats
1, I think) and "Hedphylem" (sp?)

icbyd has been my fav. album for as long as i can remember.
i love every track on it, including ventolin (although i
prefer the "wheeze mix")

I likes it I's do. Took me a while to appreciate it. For a
while I could only stand a third of the songs.. but now I
like all of them. Alberto Balsalm is an absolutely perfect
song. From beginning to end.

icbyd is quite dark with a 'lurking in the shadows' quality
- it has an element of space which i appreciate more than
say rdj - having said that, recently i have tapped into the
essence of rdj album.

I think RDJ's gonna go to Nirvana, or someplace else and
talk to Buddha or ghandi and have a revelation.

Then, The "Album" of all AFX Albums will be born.

And it shall change our shower music forever.

I Care Because You Do was his best. Had the coolest, most
effortless feel out of all of them. I love Drukqs, but he
was trying way too hard.

Thast true. Drukqs had some sort of Hollow effort to it.
Like he was trying to look Mysterious...like those damned

He was trying too hard on Drukqs? What a load of pap... how
can you try too hard by putting out an album that's part
drill'n'bass mastery, part ambient experiment and part
minimalist piano? I love it, and if you don't you're
expecting from music instead of letting it consume
and surprise you.

I wasn't expecting another ICBYD or even another RDJA. Or a
SAW2, or a CTD. Or ANY sort of comination of random,
meaningless letters. But there was nothing surprising about
the music. Just solid. I loved it. But it left a bad taste
in my mouth, a taste I can't quantify or put into words.
Nowhere near as fresh as ICBYD. It almost sounded as if he
were going through the motions, despite the fact the album
has Caesarian ambition. Why? Beats me. It either wows me, or
it doesn't. A lot of the drill and bass did not wow me, or I
felt like I'd heard it before, a lot of the piano tracks
weren't impressive, and the ambient experiments were not
high quality. But I guess it's all subjective.

At the end of the day, it's still my second favorite AFX LP.
