i've been there, sir. in fact that's only where i've been, basically. just hang in there.. tell the person how you feel, if you feel you must.. if they don't feel the same way, the rejection may be terrible and painful.. depending on your outlook/personality, i guess.. but you can move on.. in fact it's really all you can do. and looking back you will most likely be glad you at least took a risk if it meant maybe being happy with this person.. don't you think you would look back later in life and regret more having not expressed your true feelings, than you would regret having to feel their rejection? i mean, if you never speak up, you will feel that rejection, sprawled out over a long period of time.. but, I mean, it's kind of tough to say in that situation, especially if the person means a whole lot to you as a friend, but they also need to realise that's it's pretty much human nature to be attracted and/or fall in love to someone if you enjoy the company of them.. i mean,, it'd be weird, confessing such a thing, but a true friend really should be able to accept your true feelings.. but i guess that's often not the case.. i've lost who i thought was the most perfect girl for me, by telling her how i felt.. but when i think about it, i'm glad i expressed myself.. if i didn't it would've eaten away at me endlessly, as i remained just-a-friend and continued to think she was perfect for me, but was too afraid to say it.. but i guess, timing is everything.. eh.. feck it.. don't listen to me.. .just "go with your heart" ... |

a happy ending for you: i was infatuated with a close friend at uni for 2 years, the whole glorious rollercoaster and butterflies cahoot, and pretty much given up hope. then we started growing closer during revision for exams, slowly getting more intimate, then suddenly: BAM! on our last day of exams we got together and we've been together ever since (2 years). sometimes it all works out for the best. just think: is a friendship with such a deep and painful secret worth protecting? better to just spill your heart and see. it's all about choosing the right moment. good luck man |
