NIN, Janet Jackson..

SiNai on 2002-01-06 21:08 [#00066701]

Doesnt her song son of a gun rip off starfuckers?? The part
that goes "I bet you think this song is about you.. dont
you.. dont you.." Or did NIN rip off somebody else?? I
remember the music video to that part in his song, and its
changed, I cant remember what it was changed to though..
What is the deal on this?

Son of a gun is an old song, the janet jackson one is a
cover itself.

I don't know, but I reckon NIN ripped the sample in
starfucker off the original.

hmm i noticed that too. i suspect janet is a closet nin fan
to be honest.

janet may very well be a closet nin fan, but that song
interpolates carly simon's "you're so vain" (where the
aforementioned lyrics come from) and guess who's featured on
the song? carly simon herself. trent sang some of the lyrics
for his own use, he didn't sample them and they're not
"ripped off". it's not like it's some obscure song he
quoted, it was her biggest hit.

Sorry, I hadn't heard the NIN song, so I didn't know trent
sang it himself.
