Which do you have (or use most, if you have both) and what
machine is it?

I have a desktop but sometimes I wish I had a laptop. But
there are positives and negatives for both.

I have both and I'd say the ratio is something like 99% to
1% (I'm not exaggerating) desktop to laptop. But then, my
laptop is a mac, and I only use it for supercollider :P

I have both, a self built desktop, and a Sony Vaio.

PowerMac (soon a PB) and I use my PowerBook.

iBook & a 17" PowerBook?)

"......dunno about a g4 or a powerbook"

do you mean a Power Mac G4?

i guess it all depends on your needs. personally i need
portability and space saving. my room is a mess as it is,
and even when it's tidy there still wouldn't be enough room
for a desktop system.

Also, I've always had a thing for notebook systems ;)

I like being able to carry my lovely computer with me,
everywhere. Make music and edit sounds and recordings
whereever i am.

I have a desktop, and I'll always have a desktop, unless
someone gives me a laptop. From my perch here, anything in
the world is just a button press or a keystroke away. I just
don't move around enough to warrant having something so
portable.

Remember the laptop guns from Perfect Dark? Fucking cheap.

ugh 17"? I'm going to fill part of it with urine and rewire
it so that the fibre optics leading to the keys spray into
your eyes.

too fucking big.

Ha ha, after finally using one of those 17" G4 Powerbooks
I've lusted after for the best part of the year, they're
nothing special. Panther is a joke and is far less
reliable than XP.

responses....
