I've already gushed a lot about this albumhere,
but because that thread is about one of Joseph Suchy's solo
albums, and kind of takes the focus away from an album that
people are more likely to listen to (because Ehlers is more
well known than Suchy)... if you haven't heard this yet and
you are a fan of the experimental ambient stuff, i must
demand an explanation! this album is one of the very best
things i have heard this year... trumpet, guitar, and laptop
in a state of liquid bliss...

it will all be worth it in the end when you're sitting
there, floating in the center of this hazy masterpiece...

I remember a couple of your recommendations were solid, so
I'll check this out.

a lot of stuff i throw out there, i'm not confident about
other people liking because a lot of it is pretty extreme
and it helps if you've gradually moved your way into it, as
opposed to just jumping into something crazy that you've
never heard anything like before... but this... this is
solid, and i know people will like it...

well I really dig Biosphere and Tim hecker, before you
mentioned them I never heard of 'em so thanks alot for
that.
Feel free to recommend some more ambient stuff (especially
if it's anything like the substrata album ;) ).

i bet this would sound excellent on some big
speakers...maybe a performance like afx had a week ago in
paris...it should be listened to in some wicked place...oh,
and it's a bit late today as im going to bed soon, but i bet
this sounds even way better when you have a smoke...

this isn't musch like substrata actually...if you like that,
check tom opdahl and phonophani, both released on biophon
records (it's geir jensens label).

actually it was originally a sound installationt that they
performed at a museum (oh fuck that would have been cool to
see) as part of a larger artistic collaboration... but
yeah... get between some nice speakers and just let it float
on through...

avatars.

definitely! i get excited just imagining how it must have
been at that performance...unfortunately, i doubt i'll be
able to see someting similar in our museums/galleries, as
people who run them, think that music audience (well, at
least for music like this) isn't cultural enough :(

only moody dark people listen to this kind of music! i hope
to god you have a beret to make up for this gross ravagery
(new word!)!!!

*heaves a hefty gasp of malaise that will have to substitute
for the relief that is unattainable to the monochromati*

unfortunately, when the children look back upon this post...
they will have no clue as to what we were talking about...

Ah, such is the fleeting state of existence. The past, much
like happiness, is forever beyond the grasp of the
monochromati.

I remember how your radio show of a few months ago made me
download Tim Hecker's Enima. That track is still on my MP3
player and I listen to it regularly. Good schtuph.
