a new lp from those guys.spectacular.
i think its revolutionary as confield was.

very little melodies, no familiar sounds, lots of space. its
like this record is constructed from sounds that band
likes.there are parts of tension, relief..ambience.but it
all sounds so alien and new.
sounds like the band did what they really wanted.

it will get those lame stickers as "expiremental , noise,
avant garde" and all this crap.i prefer to call it honest
and innovative.

very very highly recommended.

similar?

oh no...maybe they both do reach some noise and cacophony.

but the sound is completely different

i would put those "lame" stickers on there too... i don't
think there's anything wrong with those terms, and they do
describe Black Dice's approach relatively well... i didn't
know experimental was a dirty word...

and i don't know about the "very little melodies" part,
either... i'd say this album is just as melodic as Beaches
and Canyons... and definitely more melodic than Miles of
Smiles or Cone Toaster... regardless, it is fantastic... not
to be missed by fans of both electronic and rock

mm..yep ur right about melodies..but i think they dont lead
the album like in beaches and canyons..

i understand what you're saying... i just figured it merited
elaboration in light of what they've ben doing between
albums...

this is a great album, i've been listening to it heaps
lately.
i really like the live loop.

my bill hicks arizona bay album flows into it beautifully in
the itunes playlist coincidentally enough.
