My oh my this band gives me the Uncontrollable Urge.
Their best album
Produced by Brian Eno. These guys fucking rock the socks and
are total individuals.

Make a thread if you need to talk about the Air set. This is
a DEVO thread.

Praying Hands:
You got your left hand
You got your right hand
The left hand’s diddling
While the right hand goes to work
You got both hands
You got praying hands
They pray for no man
O.k....relax...
Assume the position
Go into doggie submission

Fans of Wes Anderson movies such as Bottle Rocket, Rushmore,
and The Royal Tenanbaums may not now that Devo Frontman,
Mark Mothersbaugh composed the scores to almost all his
films.

Shrivel Up:

Well it’s a god-given fact (that
You can’t go back)
It’s a god-given law that
You’re gonna lose your maw
It’s a god-given fact you gotta
Buy’em by the sack
It’s a god-given law that
You’re gonna get small
May be just another rap but
You’re running out of sap
Well you better take the rap
Dying under daddy’s cap
It’s at the top of the list
That you can’t get pissed
It’s rule #1 living right isn’t fun
Time-tested and true you
Gotta pooty poo-poo

I can't decide what I like better.
Devo's Greatest Hits
or
Devo's Greatest Misses!

I've also got a few Devo vinyls too. Yes, Devo rocks!

I saw a variation of ''Whip It'' on TV, in a cleaning
product ad. It sounds genuine... as in, the guy singing it
is a dead ringer. Is it the actual band/vocalist?

Even if it is, that shame can't take away the fact that Duty
Now for the Future is bodacious. Ever.

You mean Mark Mothersbaugh. I saw the ad, it was for
Swiffer. (You must swiff it!). Being such a hardcore Devo
fan I was kinda upset that Mothersbaugh would let them use
it. Dont know if it was him singing, though it indeed did
sound like Mothersbaugh.

It's definately possible. Check out Mark Mothersbaugh's
company, Mutato Muzika which employs 4 of the devo crew.
They're still alive! Making music and commercials. When you
go to the Mutato site, click the "Play me!" text on the
right of the screen to see his excellent work in commercials
and movies.

devo may not own the rights to license the music. the
commercial was a rerecording, not the original devo
recording.

their first album is definitely the best, followed by
"freedom of choice."
