well, limiting yourself in certain regards can sometimes force you to flesh out other dimensions of music further... a good example would be something like plastikman's "closer" which is very minimal in it's sound sources... but the sounds themselves swirl about constantly, and really give the music this crazy sense of spatiality--or tangibility, or "here and nowedness" or whatever the hell you want to call it. |
