A lady here at work lent this to me, and it's very good...
I really love it!

yes. I have made atleast one thread on it in the past.
Some VERY good tracks on it, in fact it's one of my
fav DM-albums!

I used to like it very much, it's definitely the best of DM.
But I won't listen to it anymore. I wonder who's singin the
high note in the song called 'Home' - can't believe it's D.
Gahan. Or if it was him, then he can't do that live.

Then OK. Iwas jealousy - I have a barytone, like mr. Gahan,
but can't produce that note bel canto:)

I love the three last DM albums (Violator, Ultra, Exciter)
but Ultra is the less good of those three. Nevertheless
Barrel of a gun, It's no good and the three last tracks are
very nice. BUT I PREFER NEW ORDER ! =)

The last three DM albums are actually Exciter, Ultra, and
Song of Faith and Devotion.

Yeah.

I think Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion are better
than the last two.

Alan Wilder was a master of deep production.

if i had to give away all my records except one i could keep
- i would not have to think about which one that would be.
ULTRA. the best lp i´ve heard in my life. and this is no
exaggeration.

I was naive thinking that DM produce records themselves. At
first I've read about Mark Bell producing Exciter, now Ultra
appears to be p-reduced by some other clever guy.

"Alan Wilder was a master of deep production."

So true! Depeche Mode hasn´t been the same since he left.

Never heard about "Song of Faith and Devotion"... i think
it's a reedition and not a new album, coz i didnt care about
pre-violator stuff.

I can't get over how good this is... I've bought it myself,
and every song is excellent!

yesss! I really like it myself. (I already posted in this
thread :)
When I get back home, I'm gonna put it on.
From what I remember, there was some nice videos to some of
the singles aswell. (my fav is the "Barrel of a gun"- and
"it's no good"-videos.)

Ultra is OK, but I'm not really fond of anything they did
past the '80s, guess I'm in the minority. Some sort of
''sound'' I'm not crazy about. Some Great Reward= winner.

Violator is their best. It's scientifically proven.
