Chrispy from UK on 2002-01-04 16:51 [#00066175]

Wait! Is it a series of books or am I way off?

Ouakha from through the looking glass on 2002-01-04 16:53 [#00066176]

Quite good, getting better.

I've actually thought about giving it a read... but the
Ayatollah would probably put a death warrant on me... so I
decided not to...

Crispy : way off (unless I am!)

by Salman Rushdie. The book that got him the target of a
fat..no idea how to spell this word .. muslim fanatics
(price on his head). He had to wear Marx brothers glasses &
moustache kit & Kevin Keegan wig for years whenever he went
out to M&S for sarnies...

Chrispy from UK on 2002-01-04 16:58 [#00066180]

Yea... I realised as soon as I clicked post. Some how I
thought it was a series of comic books about dead babies and
other weird things in a very light hearted approach.

I'm so trigger happy today
way way off

Mutant Death Pengwin from Medicine Hat on 2002-01-04 22:30 [#00066243]

i read half of the book, it was so BORING! my god, salmon
rushdie sucks.

Dirty Priest from Denmark on 2002-01-05 11:18 [#00066408]

Yes, its wery nice. Please express why you think salman
rushdie is boring, mutant death penquin? i have a hard time
beliving you actually read this book, if you say
so...............
Also, theres no offensive content of for islam if you ask me
:)

its not some satanist shit if you think so. just a wacky
fictious novel. Haroun and the sea of stories is also quite
good. he´s one of the most intense writers there is.

Ceri JC from My house in Pontypridd, Wales, UK on 2002-01-05 18:49 [#00066456]

The reason it pissed the islamic fundamentalists off was the
references to Jesus who they see as a prophet, but not the
son of God. Christians should be the ones who were pissed
off, but then again, we tend not to kill people for stuff
like that, not anymore anyway (apart from the IRA ;) )
