how do you pronouce it?

titsworth_courier from washington, dc on 2002-01-04 10:03 [#00066100]

officially "aw teck ra", though you'll get a million
different answers. i must admit i have contempt for people
who say it "awticker", especially smug white college girls.
(?????)

wayout from a plastic bubble on 2002-01-04 18:20 [#00066208]

ive always thought it was 'aw-tech-er'
at least thats what it says in the warp faq..

actually, i shouldnt say ive "always" thought it was aw teck
er...until recently i thought it was aw-tech-er (ch as in
chi-chi's)
though from what i understand it means 'audio(aural?)
technology research'...

i suppose it doesnt really matter...its not like i ever
really have to say their name anyways..

I used to pronounce it Aw-tech-er, but recently I've started
pronouncing it Aw-Teh-ker, and I find that easier... and
really, it doesn't make much of a difference...

Aron? from Canada on 2002-01-04 21:48 [#00066231]

i used to say ah-tek-er
but now i find it much more pleasing to say ah-tek-ra
yeah

AMinal from toronto on 2002-01-05 02:52 [#00066303]

ive always thought it was:
aw-tesch-re
(w/ sch being sort of mixing SH and CH)

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-05 06:27 [#00066344]

isn't it pronounced Bor-ds uv Kan-a-da? That's the way I
pronounce it anyways...

do you get college girls in Washington who listen to
Autechre (I pronounce it Aw - tek - er) ?
I have an American friend at University and he thinks that
people there (I know it's an extreme over-generalisation)
don't know about electronica.
I know very few people who like this type of music -
particularly no-one at Uni.
