Anyone into his music? I haven't heard anything by him, but
a guy I know who basically likes all types of music, thinks
Bill Laswell is like some kind of god... I was told he does
something called Dub, whatever that is... I dunno, I'd like
to check him out, but would love some info...

He is a bass player that got really into the new age fusion
experimental stuff. Axiom records is his personal label. Up
untill a few years ago the guy was increadibly prolific up
untill about two or three years ago, and now new releases
have been sporatic.

Check out axiom dub and axiom ambient. Both good stuff.

funkmaster,

I've got well over 60 releases by laswell or laswell related
releases and I will say this...he is hit or miss. I'll list
about five or six that I really dig...apc tracks
vol.1,sacred system chapter 1 book of entrance, imaginary
cuba, sacred system chapter 2, silent recoil dub system one.
another series worth checking out is laswell with pete
namlook call outland-last I knew there were 4 of them -i own
2 and 3 and both are cool. he also has some drum and base
which is ok but to be honest is strength is dub. laswell
reminds me of john zorn in the sense that there is a lot of
shit out there that you have to wade through to get to the
good stuff. if you want one specifically to start out with
get sacred system chapter 1 or 2.

cheers

well, there's an album of his, or there was, actually in a
store here... it's called Radioaxiom: A Dub Transmission...
that's what sparked my interest, cause I saw it there the
other day... is that particular album any good?

the first axiom funk album is loaded. the second has a
couple jems, some sweet good spoken word. of course, only
if your into the funk. laswell produced these album, but
the musicains are various members of p-funk. bernie may
have had a part in it.
