I'm a very happy guy

PhalanxGod from the place where everything is trippy on 2002-01-03 21:59 [#00065941]

Today I bought two more Aphex Twin albums. Now I have 5
albums. Yay!!!!! Only album I still need is SAW II. I can't
get it in my neigbourhood (Holland, that is). Is SAW II any
good? According to Phobiazero it's more the "dark,
minimalist techno" kind of stuff. Is it like Radiator?
'Cause that's the only track I've already heard.

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-04 03:14 [#00065998]

haha, I have 6 aphex twin albums... sucks to be you...
*points and laughs* :)

no but seriously, I want SAW 85-92 so much... I really think
it's gonna blow me away totally, and I don't want to
download it cause it'll ruin the experience when I do
finally buy the album... although it should be on the way,
cause I did order it... ah well...

sgorhud from your rectum hole on 2002-01-04 03:56 [#00066009]

wow, is it really that hard to get aphex releases in canada
and the US? I thought it was bad here but i've managed to
get a few bits..

wayout from a plastic bubble on 2002-01-04 04:43 [#00066018]

phalanx god: check out the samples of saw2 in the explore
section..
a verbal description really cant do it justice

DubleOSyx from The East on 2002-01-04 05:09 [#00066024]

The albus releasedin america so far are SAWII, On EP,
Surfingon sine waves, RDJ album, ICBYD, AB 1 & 3, Mike an
Rich, Come To Daddy, windowlicker and course Drukqs. Thats
Kind of a lot, but not really, considering you might find
one of at a record store. 90% of the people here have never
even heard of Aphex Twin. DAMNIT... We need an American
Aphex Tour...

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-04 05:27 [#00066030]

yeah, like here in Newfoundland, I go to Music World in the
mall, and they have The RDJ album, and sometimes Come to
Daddy... that's it... and not even all the time... and then,
downtown in a small privately owned store they seem to be
carrying ICBYD and Drukqs from now on... that's all that is
carried regularly, and I have those... I was lucky, and
found Surfing on Sine Waves here, and I had to order
SAWII... and I have SAW 85-92 ordered, but I've had it
ordered for months... ah well, hopefully it'll get here
sometime...

DubleOSyx from The East on 2002-01-04 05:30 [#00066032]

But How people have never heard of Aphex there? You ask
someone here if they've of Aphex Twin, the eithor ha no clue
what your talking about, or they say it sounds familiar.
People here suck...

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-04 05:34 [#00066034]

there was a show on Much More Music about what singers and
stuff are listening to... anyways, they also had a segment
where they asked some people on the street... one person
they asked said Aphex Twin, and that he was into SAWII and
stuff... I found that cool, and that is here in Canada...

DubleOSyx from The East on 2002-01-04 05:37 [#00066035]

That actually amazes me. RDJ needs to do a tour in North
America, Damnit..

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-04 05:41 [#00066038]

it's just that over here, people aren't into that stuff like
they are over in Europe... I've heard it said that Britain
always has it's finger on what's new in music, and that
seems totally true... the Beatles came from there, heck
shitloads of awesome bands have come from there... in time,
maybe Aphex Twin will rule the billboard charts!!! :)

DubleOSyx from The East on 2002-01-04 05:45 [#00066041]

Not until this country isn't run by nazis. Damn society for
not leaving a doorway for good music. All because it isn't
Mainstream. People here would love it they ever got to here
it. Damnit...

jupitah from Minneapolis on 2002-01-04 06:23 [#00066051]

Who cares if people don't listen to the music you listen to.
I couldn't care less. In fact, if I heard my favorite
songs on the radio all the time I'd be sick of them. People
are going to listen to what they want to listen to and if
popular music is what it is than let it be.

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-04 06:27 [#00066053]

yeah that's true... it's a vicious cycle... I want Aphex
Twin, and other electronica to be popular, so that I could
buy it easier... but then if it was popular, it would be
played on the radio, and I would get sick of it faster... ah
well...

DubleOSyx from The East on 2002-01-04 06:28 [#00066054]

First Of all, I hate the radio. My only point is there
isn't enough eposure to a variety of music here. So Fuck
Off...

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-04 06:35 [#00066059]

I hate radio as well... what it does is destroy the
listenability of music... because, some music that is played
on the radio is good... but it's worn out... U2 for
instance, their new album I enjoyed a lot when I first
bought it, but now half the songs have been worn out and I
never ever listen to the album... now, music like N'Sync,
and Brittney Spears is crap, but they do play some good
music sometimes...

Ouakha from the end of time on 2002-01-04 11:49 [#00066116]

To the FunkMaster : god, I didn't think it would be so bad
getting your hands on good music anywhere in the First
World. I've always been able to saunter down to my local
record shop (everywhere I have lived has had a good
selection of dance / techno music shops) & get what I want
(or order in if really obscure). Even the main stream stores
like HMV or Virgon will stock SAW.

You have my symapthies (these are not edible, & will melt
above 10 degrees C)

Chrispy from UK on 2002-01-04 12:22 [#00066123]

Late night on BBC Radio One is usually really good... bit of
drum and bass and house, some techo and alot of alternative
dance music. Cant remember which night though.

Chrispy from UK on 2002-01-04 12:22 [#00066124]

MONDAY - mary anne hobbs - 12:00 MIDNIGHT

although i heard KID 606 on JOHN PEEL last NIGHT, which WAS
pretty GOOD....YEAH!!!

Chrispy from UK on 2002-01-04 12:42 [#00066128]

Yeah. Dude! It's good though, do you agree? Everyone here
hates the radio, but BBC Radio One is so Ace. (Well, not
THAT ace)

Murray from England on 2002-01-04 14:50 [#00066138]

I have a total of 19 pieces Aphex Twin merchandise. YAY for
me :)

Ouakha from a wee box on top of your wardrobe on 2002-01-04 15:00 [#00066140]

I've got some Aphex Twin finger nail clippings. How much
will you pay for them?

Chrispy from UK on 2002-01-04 15:01 [#00066141]

I'll pay two buttons and a Limp Bizkit waffle maker?

Ouakha from the a sod of dirt orbiting Mars on 2002-01-04 15:31 [#00066147]

Two buttons would be very useful in finishing off my sock
puppet but the Limp Bizkit waffle maker ; change that to a
Linkin Park lunch box & you have a deal

Chrispy from UK on 2002-01-04 15:32 [#00066148]

Hows about a slipknot rug and curtain set?

I like my bizkit waffles anyway

Ouakha from the a sod of dirt orbiting Mars on 2002-01-04 16:11 [#00066154]

Would've had a deal but I needed to eat someting with my
coffee : so I am currently extracting nutrients etc from
AT's finger nails. Keeping an eye open for side effects.

How about Kylie's dried saliva?

Chrispy from UK on 2002-01-04 16:18 [#00066156]

Is it encrusted on your pillow?... hmm....

Have you got a Derek the Wonder Llama Action figure? I give
you a not so complete pack of Buffy Top Trump cards along
with the 2 buttons (Marl Grey to Night Sky Purple)... and
the Limp Bizkit Waffle Maker (it broke) ?

Dirty Priest from Denmark on 2002-01-04 16:25 [#00066160]

Of the 19 aphex twin albums i´ve heard, SAW II is at least
one of the best 3. wery deep :)

(i own 17)

Ouakha from the a sod of dirt orbiting Mars on 2002-01-04 16:33 [#00066164]

I'm missing one monster card from an old top trumps pack
from the 80's. If you can find that you can have the saliva,
the regurgitated nails (I think I punctured my stomack as
well...) and my entire new romantic make-up kit

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-04 17:03 [#00066182]

yeah it sucks here... It's even harder to get Autechre, and
Boards of Canada are a no show anywhere... Every now and
then you'll find a good album downtown in one of the smaller
stores... that's where I bought Chiastic Slide, and
Incunabula, but other then that, you have to order the stuff
in... I had to order in Music has the Right to Children...
it was worth it though...

Chrispy from UK on 2002-01-04 17:05 [#00066185]

Was it the Planets Top Trumps or the Marvel SuperVillans Top
Trumps?

I've got both of those.

Ouakha from through the looking glass on 2002-01-04 17:07 [#00066188]

Can't remember! Off home, even this site can't keep me in
work. If it could it would be stan electronified.

Chrispy from UK on 2002-01-04 17:09 [#00066189]

Me too.... I aint staying for one more second.....

oh... bugger.
