Another Fruity Loops question

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-03 00:44 [#00065761]

how do you set what channels to play, and what ones not
to... the ones I want playing aren't, and I can't seem to
fix it... it's getting on my fucking nerves!!!!!

:)

zmalloc from road is land on 2002-01-03 00:49 [#00065764]

if i understood your question i might be able to help.

I think what you might be saying is that you have certain
channels muted? Or are you talking about FX channels?
television channels? english channels?

F1 can go a long way sometimes

Taxi on 2002-01-03 01:02 [#00065765]

Yeah. Use your helf file.

But as far as fruity goes, there are about 4 different kinds
of channels in that program

Be a bit more specific, is it in the playlist editor window?
The Fx window? The sequencer window?

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-03 01:07 [#00065767]

well how do I unmute it? I keep pressing the little light
thing over by the volume and panning controls, but then when
I play the song it goes off... also, about the middle of the
song, half of my channels just turn off... what the fuck is
going on?

help me!!!!

:)

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-03 01:09 [#00065768]

the step sequencer... you know, where you select the
patterns you want for each particular instrument... well,
one of the channels won't play, and halfway through the song
half the others stop playing...

Taxi on 2002-01-03 01:11 [#00065769]

Do you want a different crack of fruityloops? Yours seems to
be a bit strange...

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-03 01:19 [#00065771]

What I'd like, is someone to help me figure out how to get
this fucking program to work...

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2002-01-03 01:21 [#00065772]

You Newf can't do ANYTHING right, eh?

:-D

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2002-01-03 01:21 [#00065773]

NewfS, I meant...

I be stupid Nova Scotian this day.

Taxi on 2002-01-03 01:30 [#00065775]

I have almost everything you can do with it figured out, and
can troubleshoot most problems with it. I haven't ever come
across the problems you are having, unless you did some
strange event editing and forgot about it.

Perhaps you should start a new track and see if what has
happened happens again, and try to pin down the source of
the problems that way. Thats how I learned to use it and
most of the other programs that I use.

Its a learning process tho, right?

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-03 01:45 [#00065777]

yeah yeah... I'm just a little ticked off, cause I had a
pretty decent tune going, and this is fooling up
everything... ah well...

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-03 01:52 [#00065778]

well maybe this might make more sense... it seems that
sometimes if I change things, it doesn't stick... for
instance, I just changed the speed, but then when I press
play it goes back to the other speed... what's up with
that?

that's what was going on with the channels... the particular
channel was muted or something, then I'd click on it to
unmute it, but when I played it it was muted... it doesn't
make any sense...

Taxi on 2002-01-03 01:53 [#00065779]

That used to happen to me a lot. Eventually you learn what
not to do, and it all stats to make sence.

If you want to send me a .flp zip file I can see what is
wrong with it and help you out.

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-03 01:57 [#00065780]

nah, I'll figure it out... thanks though...

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-03 02:06 [#00065784]

it's all the programs fault by the way... :)

Taxi on 2002-01-03 02:08 [#00065785]

Yeah. You will prolly be figuring that is whats wrong right
untill you actually learn it proper. :P

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2002-01-03 02:08 [#00065786]

Newfie.

Then again, I downloaded it and couldn't figure out how to
do a god damn thing on it. I shouldn't talk.

Dermitax :P on 2002-01-03 02:12 [#00065788]

The thing about newfies, is they will continue to try untill
they have a heart attack.

At least some people know when to quit.

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-03 02:17 [#00065789]

Oh my heart!!!!! Everything... is... going... black...

but... yet I... still manage... to... write... this,
message.......

*head hits keyboard with a thud*

CJ from Berlin...Connecticut...United States... on 2002-01-03 08:39 [#00065822]

lmao....send it to someone...we could fix it quite
fast...lol

muir from sac on 2002-01-03 09:39 [#00065830]

maybe youve recorded the mute into the song?

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-03 16:49 [#00065874]

well I managed to narrow it down to a particular pattern
number... and when the song reachs that point, the channels
start to turn off, and the speed goes all haywire... I
figured out how to turn on the channel that was always
turning off, but I can't for the life of me figure this one
out...

FUZZYBUTT on 2002-01-03 17:23 [#00065880]

That seems to be a FRUITY LOOPS BUG ! Especially the TS404
is very buggy

DJCJ from CT, USA on 2002-01-03 18:19 [#00065884]

Either that or he likes to keep the record button 'on'...lol

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-03 18:57 [#00065890]

what's this record button you speak of? I'm not stupid
seriously I'm not... :)

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-03 19:06 [#00065891]

heh, I did have the record button on... I figured it out!!!
:)

Sgt Growley from UK on 2002-01-03 19:24 [#00065895]

Try "sonic foundry acid music" it's really really good,
takes a month to work out what the hells going on with it
though.
www.hitsquad.com

DJCJ from CT, USA on 2002-01-03 19:50 [#00065909]

Acid aint much if you cant make the 'loops'...and
fruityloops can make loops :-D...floops is betta!

Sgt Growley from UK on 2002-01-03 19:54 [#00065911]

Good point!
Now help me out, what app do most people use to save bits
from cd's on to the hard drive as wav files?

DJCJ from CT, USA on 2002-01-03 20:27 [#00065926]

you can record a whole track using one of those cd ripper
programs (thereafter chop it up with something), or if you
have the right kind of soundcard you can use a sound program
like soundforge to record from the cd while you play the
cd...

Sgt Growley from UK on 2002-01-03 20:30 [#00065928]

Thanks!
I'll get back reading the 500 page soundforge instruction
manual then i guess :¬(

DJCJ from CT, USA on 2002-01-03 21:41 [#00065937]

If you have an SB Live! you can goto the soundcards Creative
Surround mixer (to find this goto C:\Program
Files\Creative\SBLive\AudioHQ and open AudioHQ.exe and then
double click on the Mixer Icon....)
In there you should see a master volume, bass volume, treble
bolume...etc....
There will be a Red vertical bar taht adjusts recording
volume...you can change that to record from microphone, line
input, cd input, etc....Choose cd input...
This lets you start playing the cd...then open
soundforge...press record...and boom you're recording the cd
audio... :-D

Thats for the Soundblaster Live! sound cards...its a common
card, so maybe you have it *shrug* :-D

Anyhow, good luck.

Kosmonautis from Goo on 2002-01-03 22:15 [#00065943]

Lets get serius guys!!!!
forget everything about
computer music,because
as far as i can see you'll
need about 50years to
compose just one note!
so don't waste your time
life is toooooo sort!
Get a life!!!
Friendly

Kosmonautis from Goo on 2002-01-03 22:24 [#00065945]

Just kiding :-)

DJCJ from CT, USA on 2002-01-03 22:30 [#00065946]

Lmfao :-D

Uhm you can make a note like by typing in beep
and your pc will beep
and then after sampling that you can like...keep playing it
over and over and just like tons of beeps
on the same note
called the Samenotebeeppcsong.
yeah! Great idea1121231

Kosmonautis from Goo on 2002-01-03 23:15 [#00065954]

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-04 03:04 [#00065994]

my sister listens to my Aphex Twin cds while I play then and
she says "That's simple to make... rock music is much
harder!!!" BAH!!!!!!!!!!! I've been working on some music,
and it's damn hard... I suck at melody... I can't seem to
get out of C major... :)

I can usually come up with decent beats, but to stick a
melody in, I suck at it...

Taxi on 2002-01-04 04:15 [#00066014]

Girls say shit like that because they get off on rock music,
where techno they don't :P

DJCJ from CT, USA on 2002-01-04 08:18 [#00066082]

I disagree taxi!

and for The_Funkmaster's sister...She's dumb! my god!
I'm in a rock band....and damn its much easier to just play
it...rather than program it...i mean...shit...we usually
make our own sounds! Or modify them!
Program our own drums....Hey GIRL try programming drums,
bass, synths, pads, whilst making the sounds, whilst making
good compisition, and do it all by your
self...............god GRR...sSTUPID PEOPLE....

GRRR *ROAR*

(uhh...)

Oh yeah and theres the learning the freaking sequencing
software...

Learning so much and so much and so much and omg... Theres
so much to know and learn in electronic composition...its
horizons span much farther! (i think)

Guitars, etc... are great...but...long live my pc!
okay whatecver.......
i drove 2 hours to nyc...went wrong way...got there
late...stayed for 30 minutes...drove 2 hours back
home...GASL:SASLKDJASKLDJ

I'm raelly not liking this long travel shit! okay bbye.
