offline hyakusen from 8=============> on 2004-05-04 14:11 [#01173081]

The guys from Kraftwerk said the want to release their all
albums again. that includes LP''s : "autobahn",
"radio-activity", "trans-europa express", "mensch machine",
"computer welt", "electric cafe", "the mix" and latest
"tour de france soundtracks".
the first one, ( dunno which one tho ) will be re-released
in may ( probably in the middle of the month or so )
great opportunity to check them if you are interested in
best oldschool electronics.

apparently no bonus tracks :(

i think bonus tracks at the end of albums are never a good
thing, but in this case it would have been nice to have had
some of the 12" mixes that you can only (well, almost only)
get with slsk.

offline acidophilus from the gates of dawn on 2004-06-04 06:54 [#01222541]

or why not throw in a bonus disc?

they're all easy to get, so why do they have to re-release
them?

Hell, I got bored with them years ago, Tangerine Dream, now
that's a different story, much better use of synthesisers
IMO,
Kraftwerk were using hardwired Moogs and stuff on a lot of
their albums whilst the Dream used modulars.

I'm looking forward to a remastered version of "The Mix".
That's Kraftwerk at their best.

whistle already.

as far as i know, there haven't been any legitimate releases
of the first three (kraftwerk, kraftwerk (2) and ralf &
florian) for years. i think they've been tolerated
bootlegs. the copies i have are mastered from the vinyl.

when i first heard about this, i thought that there were
going to be a small number of bonus tracks (though it was
acknowledged that there was very little unreleased
material).
can't recall the source, unfortunately.

You're right. The Mix is supreme.

The Mix is a far cry from Man Machine and Computer World.
This is indeed good news. I'm afraid I'll end up buying them
all again.

the vinyl quality of the first album is one of the clearest
pressings of anything ive ever heard :)

I could have sworn I saw one of the first two albums in
Musicworld once, that stylized pylon is unforgettable.
Haven't seen it since.

the first three albums have apparently been relentlessly
bootlegged...

they have not been legitimately licensed, i think.

Well, the 12345678 promo has been out ages, and that has all
the albums in their remastered state. But it is very, very
limited, and sells for about £350 or so.

I have the mp3s at least, but it'd be nice to own the real
thing.
