Maybe a clue to what ktpa 1+2 actually is...
I was listening to some old 7"s, and the B side to PiL's Public Image single, called The Cowboy Song. Throughout the song is definate ktpa noise going on, and at the start you can hear it clearly. There you go.

Try to download the Public Image Limited track and you'll see what I mean...
Just found this:
John Leckie - SJP Interview Q: How easy or stressful was it to produce John Lydon on his first PiL single?
JL: It wasn't easy.... I had been two weeks at The Manor doing a record with Wilco Johnson and came down Monday morning from the Manor after a few hours sleep to Advision Studios (a studio I hadn't worked in before). The band all had new equipment which hadn't been unpacked. I set up and I always remember going out in the studio after working for 4 hours on an amazing drum sound and when I came back in Jah Wobble had turned every knob and pushed every button on the desk! (I engineered the session) John was OK but Keith Levene was mad and insisted having his guitar amp in the control room at full volume! Wobble poured beer down the mixer and when the food arrived that was also thrown around the room.
Wobble nicked my wallet and wouldn't give it back to me til the next day! Keith Levene took the multitrack tape home that night and came in the next day having forgotten it and accused me of stealing it! The track was pretty much a live take with Levene's guitar double tracked. John L. did his vocal through a Space Echo dub style...
I did a rough mix and went home. The next day the band never showed up and my rough mix was the record. I got no credit but Richard Branson did give me £250! It wasn't stressful just a lot of fun!
Thanks to SJP
That's it! Beer in the mixer!

i'm confident ktpa's are some sort of circuit bending/manipulation type thing.
i've found similar sounds by the following methods:
keyboard circuit + water + my hands
it makes senes, and is entirely analogue
anyway...

I'm confident the kpta's are just shit and not worth any justification.
