well this weekend I've been having a nerdtastic lan at my
house in honour of my flatmates 25th birthday party, managed
to get rob (rf, modex, fragilenine, etc...) and his girl liv
up here for the weekend,

all up there were 13+ computers set up in the house, numerou
people with and without their computers, shitloads of
futurama, and some multiplayer DOOM 2,

that's right DOOM 2

it eventaully came down to a duke out between me and rob, as
I was the only real compeditor he had there (rob likes to
boast about being able to finish the first level in 5
seconds, casue it's soemthing worth boasting about.)

it's still going as we speak, numerous people have gone
home, but htere a few more drop in's expected,

here's a pic of the front room, there are 8-9 computers set
up in there at the moment:

my room is absolutely tiny, but despite that, I managed to
seat me, rob, and liv in there with our computers all
weekend comfortably, notice how the wallpaper on my
secondary computer has been adjusted to the slope of hte
monitor:

THA MAN HIMSELF, he strikes fear into all that come near,
and his doom skills are legandary.

i spent the whole friekin weekend doing uni assignments and
what not, which is why i couldnt come to the lan :'C

The only interesting thing i did was go to dendy cinema
friday night and saw Elephant, which was really really good.
But I had a choc top ice cream from dendy and there was bits
of tissue in the ice cream, so i had a talk to the guys
there about it. I almost ohsnapped.

But yeah, i actually got a lot of uni work done this
weekend, which is good because i have a lot of stuff to do.
Relatively i havnt done much, but im quite proud of the
ammount i got done this weekend.

Now I have to watch Rabbit Proof Fence for my writing class
tomorrow, and im not looking forward to watching it at
all.....

i am really cold right now.

rabbit proff fence actually looked kinda interesting but
then, previews are meant to do that, eh?

wtf is elephant about?

offline staplemouth on 2004-05-02 01:55 [#01169857]
Points: 556 Status: Lurker

elephant is a film about the columbine school shootings, but
the focus is mainly on the victims, rather than the killers.
And its not a documentary (eg not like Bowling for
Columbine)

You probably wont be able to see it anywhere except Dendy,
except via other forms of media.......................wink.
But probably better if you see it at a cinema.

go go!

Went to eat your own ears. Talked to some nice guy about
post-rock and constellation records. Talked to a wierd guy
about mego and hecker. Got tired, left london at 6am, got
home, had a poo, then a bath, then a sleep.

Sunday went to work, stole some buns and then finished and
had roast pork.

TOTAL RESULT!

Yesterday i woke up at 9am to get ready even though i was
well hungover from the night before. My friends picked me up
and we were on our way.

I went to Madison. There was this huge block party type
thing going on and all the houses ofcourse were owned by
students. There were kegs up the ass. Every house seemed to
have like five minimum. You pick your house get a cup and
drink.

I was so trashed that i didnt know my friend was drunk until
1/4 the way home. We had a 100+ mile drive. We got back into
town around supper time and went right to another keg party
and it lasted until like 4:30am. Which is when i gave up and
went to sleep with the girl :)

I felt so sick in the car on the ride home 4 hours later.

No idea. I was sitting down waiting for my mate to bring
back some drinks (it took him around 45 minutes) and this
peasant but odd chap came up to me with a warp records
t-shirt on and said what i thought of fennesz. I replied I
thought it was brilliant, beautiful textual stuff and i like
a lot of stuff on mego. Then he started frothing at the
mouth going on about the stuff he loves on there and how
hecker is brilliant. I interjected with pita, and he went
even more looney.

And he was gone as quickly as he had arrived.

yesterday it was my freinds 19th birthday, and of course, as
always, it's been hosted at MY house, which is great, cause
it means people will be here :D

before anyone arrived chi sshowed us a 086 mother

THAT RIGHT AN 086, not a 286 or 386 or 486 but an 086

only 3000 existed in australia when they were made,
photo's were taken, and much awe was given,

for the first half of the night it was mostly a no show,
(besides the ones that are ALWAYS here, shannon, tirndy,
michael, davo, elanor, chi, susan, brett, and myself) until
eventually gab, grant, kirtsen, nissa, and josh came by, chi
tried to play some music but quickly realised that his
speakers sound like crap, so I cut up some cat5 cable and
extended my speakers down the house into the livingroom,
there was plenty of alchahol, david mother came up and
offered to buy us pizza "how many people are coming" "uhh,..
ummm,.... fifty? you'll have to buy pizza for fifty people"
we good pizza, and all was good

we got louder, and stuff got more interesting, chi lit up
this gas cooker thing that is VERY similar to a
flamethrower, much lighting of cigarettes was done from
this, and much jumping from balcony to avoid flames was done
as well, then tony gets and idea "buy me some kero"

we go to the shops, local wankers with nothing more ot do
than hang out at the local store are around, being
themselves, as in wankers, kero is bought

tony thank us for the kero and I walk inside, by the time I
come out he has taken his shirt off, and is breathing fire,

WTF!!

ok, so for the next half an hour he is breathing fire all
over thje front yard, being really fucking impressive,
shannon goes down and gets taught how to do it also, and
then the police arrive, and well all appropriately shit
ourselves, as fire is everywhere

"just keep the noise down"
"uh ok"

and they leave

"phew"

got back inside and everyone is clustered in my room, much
apc and nin video clips are shown, and poeple appropriately
leave when I start playing vsnares, hehehhehe.

evyn and lizbit arrive, but by now everyones calming down,
so we plait evyns dark/blonde/white/purple/pink hair (and
yes, he's a guy) and then I go out to see some random
household items taped to the roof

What

The

Fuck?

and form there on it pethered down into nothingness and i
went to bed

I still remember playing Marble Madness on our family 086
which was an IBM XT, cost us around $2000 at the time.

I was 4 or 5 years old.

I swear I'll bother to go out next weekend.

He he, when I was playing at a house party there was a girl
doing fire breathing with barbeque lighter fluid. I was
watching and started toing these really gritty synth stabs
every time she'd do it, like it was part of some
pre-arranged act. I was talking to her afterwards and asked
if she had lined her mouth/throat with milk first (I
remembered a mate who was really into circus skills telling
me about it) and it turns out she hadn't and knew nothing
about it. She was just spitting it out over a tikki torch
whilst people were dancing.

This weekend:

I went sailing for the first time in about 4 years. There
was great wind and I was in a new sort of boat (Topaz) which
were suprisingly good. I managed to stay dry (the other two
in the boat didn't :P). I was life guarding afterwards, but
thankfully didn't have to go in as it was bloody freezing
(and swimming at this particular lake is dodgy- lots of
underwater obstuctions).

Today, bit of revision, bit of music and maybe some
videogames.
