i used to think they were a bunch of idiots but im really
starting to like thier music now.
the instrumental/stript version of voodoo-u has to be one of
the best acid-techno albums ive ever heard!

so......how Feeeeel you? hm

I've heard of them, but have'nt heard them...seems like
pretensious garbage...

crayon_kid from the inner most reaches of your soul... on 2002-01-01 06:39 [#00065393]

hehe yeah.
they're pretty raunchy, lyrics wise, but i think praga khan
is damn good at what he does. great beats, nice melodies,
bunch of differant styles.

Lords of Acid were one of the original Belgian techno/new
beat, mostly a joke/ novelty act. They have been totally
irrelevent and unoriginal for the past decade. That is why
people have turned to Warp/Rephlex for their techno fix.

It's 2002, not 1990, but what ever gets you hard.

crayon_kid from the inner most reaches of your soul on 2002-01-01 10:10 [#00065400]

wow, some of you guys can be real downers on other peoples
tastes.
i probably own nearly half of the rephlex catalogue but you
immediatly slap some kind of 'out of date music listener'
stamp on my forehead just because i also listen to 80s and
90s techno along with the new shit.
what a fuckin shame that you have to be so judgemental.
fuck all of you, fiends.

crayon_kid from the inner most reaches of your soul on 2002-01-01 10:21 [#00065401]

oh, and lords of acid hasn't kept the same sound for a
single record.

lust= generic dance trash (4/4 beats)
voodoo-u= caustic acid trash (breakbeats)
our little secret=big beat trash (heavy beats)
farstucker=acid rock trash(much guitar work)

so before you say shit about LoA being unnoriginal or
redundant in thier music, don't.
and its okay to dig old school shit. i dont think anything
goes out of date. and you dont have to take music so
seriously, its okay to have a little fun once in a while.

blahblahblah im over it whatever good night

*cringe* I had a girlfirend LOOOONG ago that liked lords of
acid. she thought they were the gods of techno or something.

I personally do like any type of SHOCK type music, its just
kind lame. kinda like Marilyn Manson.
Its like they try real hard to be raunchy with "taboo"
subject matter and nasty lyrics, but listen to the music and
its crap.

crayon_kid from the inner most reaches of your soul on 2002-01-01 10:32 [#00065405]

i think im drawn to gimmicky bands.

i like marilyn manson, nine inch nails, skinny puppy.

i also like u-ziq, squarepusher, afx, bogdan and two lone
swordsman.

i think praga khan is good at what he does, cheesy trance
stuff has its place just as everything else does.

windowfucker on 2002-01-01 13:38 [#00065414]

The Lords of Acid style changes, because he tries to imitate
newer styles, while maintaining the same gimmick. Just like
an old rock band might add some hip-hop style or some
breakbeats as a gimmick to imitate current trends, while
keeping the same vocal style and stupid guitar solos. Sure,
a lot of those early 90s techno trax are silly mindless fun,
but sometimes you gotta move on. You just seemed like you
were taking Lords seriously, like you have been listening to
Aphex and Squarepusher, and all the sudden realized that
Lords of Acid is da bomb or something, to be taken
seriously.

windowfucker on 2002-01-01 14:15 [#00065421]

If you are into that stuff, have you tried out Wax Trax
stuff like Revolting Cocks, My Life With the Thrill Kill
Kult, KMFDM? Though nothing really original has come out of
these people in over a decade either. If you wanna go old
skool, you could try old Chicago acid house, or the Warp
Classics 10 series, or old hiphop like Public Enemy's It
Takes a Nation of millions... or NWAs Straight Outta Compton
,or Grandmaster Flash and the furious Five or Planet Rock,
or Kraftwork or old New Order and Joy Division, or
Parliament. or Al Green, or Miles Davis, or Stooges and
Velvet Underground, or Robert Johnson.
