just visited Apple.com and there's a new version of iTunes available that boasts lossless encoding?
anyone know what encoder is being used for this?

oscillik > the colour of iTunes application & files icons.

the lossless encoding creates files at something like 900 kps but the file size is much bigger than aac

i'm just about to try out the feature where you can join the tracks together for seamless transition from track to track (no gap). It somehow still keeps them as individual files.

Are iPods the best thing if you want a reasonable amount of diskspace for an MP3 player? I mean at LEAST 10GB. iPod the only thing?

really?
i was under the impression that it encodes it as one big file??
can you confirm if its separate files?
>mappatazee
no i think there are others, but i don't think they come anywhere close to the iPod's size for such a large capacity
*please don't quote me on this, i'm not too clued up on music players*
