Just finished Ask the Dust by John Fante. Fucking brilliant book. If you enjoy the understated poignancy of Catcher in the Rye (who doesn't?) then give it a go, it's ace.
Currently trying to read V by Thomas Pynchon. Keep stalling and having to start again. So irritating when that happens.
Oh and in non-fiction, Psychosis and Human Nature by psychologist Aaron Beck. Excellent stuff.
