who makes music?

muir from sac on 2001-12-31 12:35 [#00065148]

who makes music? what kind? what do you use to make it? care
to share ideas about this equipment or comment on them?

i make music under the name Faster Faster. im not real sure
of the style actually but i guess its idm in some form. of
course aphex is an influence.
i use my laptop running fruityloops 3.3 and cool edit pro.
and my nord 2(wonderful synth, the sexy red goddess),
ms2000r, and electribe er-1(cheap and highly entertaining
machines, classic sounds and newer stranger ones). i would
show you guys some of my stuff but i havent gotten anything
recorded that does me justice so ill post that later when i
have enough time off work to focus. im just curious how
many people frequent this site who are involved in the world
of music and not just listeners.
check out mp3.com/thechristmastree i liked that guy alot

I'M REALLY INTO USING fRUITY lOOPS RIGHT NOW, DOING
EXPERIMENTAL SHIT. I'VE ACTUALLY BEEN CONSIDERING MAKING A
DEMO OF MY 'BEST' TRACKS AND SENDING THEM TO A FEW REC.
LABELS. ANY ONE ELSE HERE DONE THAT, OR PLANS ON DOING IT
IN THE FUTURE? OR AM I JUST CRAZY?

amthkc from kcamth on 2002-01-09 07:52 [#00067617]

DJCJ on 2002-01-09 08:22 [#00067622]

I keep getting told that I should send my best stuff to some
record labels, but in my eyes I dont feel ready for
that...But actually I should...If I made even a little cash
it'd be a great start for a career in the business, and
great experience as well. And besides...I'd be signed...and
the looks cool...right? lol

DJCJ on 2002-01-09 08:23 [#00067623]

the = that

Ceri JC from My house in Pontypridd, Wales, UK on 2002-01-10 00:15 [#00067878]

I use mics, my PC, re-birth, cool edit 2000, fruity loops,
sound recorder and metallic objects (keys, coins, cuttlery,
etc.) to make "harmonic noise" as I like to call it.

Does anyone know any free software for extracting sound from
.mpgs/.avis to .wav files please?
If so can you post the URL here, thanks.
