i grew up on nirvana and sonic youth. but at a certain point i decided i had had enough of that and i needed something fresh and new. all the sudden i saw an aphex twin cd in the store in the used section and i remembered come to daddy. back then i was kinda under the impression that he was like prodigy. so i bought the cd and listened and it was great. though i mostly listened to come to daddy hehe. then i started to realise how genius the other songs were too. and eventually i realised all the other groups out there like that, like autechre and funkstorung and jega and tons more. its become a big part of me. and after taking a guitar music break for almost 2 years ive gotten back into it again with the same old goodies like nirvana and mudhoney and some new ones ive found. i dont know if that really answers the question. but i do love aphex. ive got almost every album by now. and i make the music as well mostly using my computer. anyway.... i think mostly for me aphex twin was a big musical breath of fresh air. thats what i liked. |
