Wow, this game is something else. Anyone played it yet? I
got it a few days ago and played it all night.

Crazy. The comparisons to Silent Hill are unavoidable, but
this is a great game in its own right. The ''Shibito'' are
basically zombies with brains... and GUNS. A really
intimidating foe, and the way they shuffle after you quickly
is pretty unnerving. The whole ''sightjacking'' thing is
pretty cool. I'm not far into but already I had to use it to
plot out a course through the woods so that a sniper
wouldn't get me... looking through his eyes, I ran for it
when he looked away for a second. Sweet stuff, more than a
gimmick. It's also creepy as hell to sightjack a shibito
that's stumbling through the woods after you, and seeing you
in distance. Shitting a brick, probably.

Other than the inane dubbing (everyone is Japanese and they
ALL have British accents), the atmosphere is pretty
suffocating. This game is hard, though. The trial and error
is on par with Splinter Cell's, because if a Shibito with a
gun sees you, you're fucked. You constantly have to replay
scenarios. The game is set up in little 10-15 minute long
missions, which is different than other survival horror
games. And thank God, because this is a tough one.

The ambient music is gold. I hope somebody on Soulseek has
the soundtrack.

I was wondering about this title. Sightjacking sounds quite
interesting. It would be fun to play around with that for a
while.

go leafs!

It's for Playstation 2.

The environments in this game are fantastic. Being chased up
a dirt road in the middle of the woods is intense.

You barely ever get weapons in this game. So I hope you like
running away like a little bitch.

good. that's adding more to "survival" rather than "horror."
(i.e. running)

Yeah, it's pretty cool, keeps you on your toes. But it's
also closer to a horror movie than any game I've played. It
constantly cuts between scenes and characters, which COULD
have hurt the ''flow'', but I think it works. I appreciate
it. Because there's no backtracking or anything like that,
like in Resident Evil and Silent Hill. The narrative is
constantly moving forward. As long as you don't suck too
hard.

Which I do. I'm having a tough time outsmarting these
dickheads.

> my thoughts too =)
i'd love to have the soundtrack...

the game didn't scare me as much as i thought it would do
though - ironically, the official website is scarier than the
game so far...

the video scene with Risa Onda, when she's in the hospital
and sees and hears "something" in the fog was quite
horrifying though. i won't describe it of course, i don't
want to give any spoilers...

heh
funny

there is a model or something called Risa Honda...
(just came across it while searching for the character in
the game to check the spelling if it was Onda or Honda)
