DJ Shadow

Caserol Joe the Chubby from mpls on 2001-12-31 02:58 [#00065091]

I noticed he made it to a few of the top ten lists. I own
endtroducing and like alot but I've heard it's his only good
album. Is there anything else I should consider?

preemptive strike is quite nice...
also check out unkle's 'psyence fiction'
a colaborative project with him and a number of other
notable figures...

I've heard psence. Forgot DJ Shadow was involved. It's ok.
Thom Yorke's presence is nice. I wouldn't pay moey for it.

psyence fiction is awesome. it's different from endtroducing
in that it's less hip-hop, but the differences are cool.
it's definitely worth buying. i've had it since the day it
came out and it's one of my favorite albums still. also pick
up shadow's rarities/b-sides compilation "preemptive
strike." there're some long songs on it that you might find
boring at first, but it'll grow on you. at no extra charge
it also contains a bonus cd with a megamix by dj q-bert.
besides these albums, i have about half a gig of dj shadow
mp3's - some of his best stuff isn't on the albums. download
"dark days theme", "zimbabwe legit", "basic megamix", and
"midnight in a perfect world (gab mix)" for starters. and
watch for an AMAZING new solo album in the next couple
months!

i think that qbert megamix only came with original
pressings..coz i think it was just supposed to be a limited
edition type thing...in other words, it doesnt come with new
copies anymore..

is the new solo album really coming??
is there a date yet?
should be nice

MCA records. originally set for september '01, pushed back
to february '02, now shadow says it'll probably be april
'02. keep up to date at: www.djshadow.com

as for the qbert megamix, i've never ever seen a copy of
preemptive w/o it. i've also seen it sold as a standalone in
"live" form (i guess a live megamix) in an imports section.
