bad memories

i was wondering, why do people are always inclined to
remember much more vividly bad things in their lives? sure,
they always make greater impact. but this rots everything
else. years of friendship ruined in a day... should one
false step always be trated as a fuckin' giant false leap?
is this normal?

(forgive me... i'm a bit depressed)

I agree, bad memories always seem to outweigh the good ones.
The strongest memories in my life were from the worst three
years of my life. Memories are then stronger when the mind
thinks they are needed for personal experience. You know, so
you don't make the same mistake twice.

I don't find this is the case. It all depends on how much
you dwell on something. My advise it forget it, stop
torturing yourself about it, learn from it and become
stronger for it.

i'm not sure... i'll make this a bit abstract just to ease
myself and in the process probably making it a bit hard for
you. :)

so...

you've been a friend with somebody for years. everything
goes fine, you have the time of your lives, you spend 12
hours a day together everyday and can't get enough. and
then, without any particular reason, something breaks... bad
mood probably. you say something you shoudn't have. your
friend does. a 15 second exchange of bad energy. but you
both remember it. on the next day things seem fine. but
after a while the same thing happens, only this time you
have 30 seconds of bad energy exchange. and so on, until you
reach the point where all the 12 hours suck... just because
you can't shake of the memory of yesterday.

so, what do you think? (if things got any clearer, that is)
