i do not like autechre. although i do like a couple of their songs. i think they are rather boring. i dont care if everyone says that slowly progressing shit is genius, i think it is boring. so there it is. i dont like autechre. but the real question is who will throw the first stone? |

Well, ones taste in music depends on things much more abstract than cleverness. I'd be willing to bet that you listen to some music that isn't 'clever.' I think i's just a matter of whether or not they're your cup of tea. You either feel it or you don't. |

Never been a huge fan of them but I certainly dont hate em. Much prefer EP5 to Amber (only 2 ae albums I own). I think EP5 is really great, while Amber gets me skipping a few songs I hate... though it does contain my fave ae track (Track 10, cant remember the name! oops!!) |

caserol... a lot of people are into autechre becuase they say "their music is very complex and innovative" not because it sounds good. they listen autechre because they think it's smart music and that's what they should be listening to... they are pseudo-intelectuals "Yeah. It doesn't bother me if people aren't enlightened or smart enough to understand Autechre. " like i said, pseudo-intellgent. ok some of ae stuff is nice. but they care more about using weird sounds and weird gimmicks than creating something estethically pleasing or beautiful. so they fuck it up. they suck |

I dunno, but Incunabula has some damn beautiful songs on it, and Chiastic Slide is amazingly beautiful the whole way through... I've heard Amber, and that's the same, different but still sounds wonderful... to me, Autechre, from what I've heard, are great... |

Autechre have propably made some of the best music out there 4 a while, and then they fucked up. Their last few albums sound like theyre trying too much to be complicated. So, personally, i prefer to keep listening to their older stuff(which still sounds totaly up to date). |

I understrand that there are pseudo-intellectuals who listen to Autechre, but that has nothing to do with Autechre themselves. Fans will be fans for whatever reason and sean and rob probably don't care. I don't believe they use the methods they do as gimmicks, only to make a complex product. The comment on beauty is just ridiculous. The latest releases are the most aesthetically pleasing to me. I find the older releases to be borong sometimes. What I hear when I listen to Autechre is a musical vision, just like any other musicain I listen to. Do you think they're trying to impress themselves or something? I don't understand, it's music. YOU EITHER DIG IT OR YOU DON'T. It's quite simple. |
