can't you sample from cd's?

I do that a lot. just as long as you use them to serve good,
all will be fine.

yo yo yo i can't i dont own expensive machines like all of
you. i wanted to remix this one song - fruity loops comes
with drum n bass, all sorts of percussion, but no actual
good e. guitar sample boohoo fo me but dont shoot yourself
it wont get us nowhere

a so-called "sound editor", for example, SoundForge.

but don't fret! you can also use it for all kinds of
post-production, eq-ing etc.
