Can someone tell me if mp3.com is a good place to make
money?

Is it good to put your songs on mp3.com

Does it cost to put your songs on mp3.com

Tell me everything that is worth to know about mp3.com (no I
dont want to go to mp3.com and read about em, I want to ask
you who have tried it).

you can pay 20 bucks a month and make money and shit, but
you'll only break even if you have like a million plays a
month.
so yeah.

or you can just not pay them, and not make any money either
(like most of us).

...that wasn't a very good explaination.
go to mp3.com if you wanna know all the details.

the service there is really bad tho, like yo have to wait
1-3 weeks or more before your songs get authorized, and if
you send them an email regarding whatever it'll take like
forever to respond.

www.electronicscene.com is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better
than mp3.com. It's focused on electronic music (duh) and has
instant song approval/page changes. You can only upload 2
tracks for free, but the rates are much more competetive
than anything else I've seen. It's just started up, and
currently has about 600 tracks online I think. You can also
use a variety of bitrates for your mp3s, including VBRs. I
recommend it.

Chris.

I am just shy of 12,000 plays, and am at $22.01 for about 8
months of being online (I signed up when I started making
music, and I don't spam at all, so I think that is pretty
good). I haven't made a cent off of that, because to get any
of that money I would have to pay $20 a month.

I don't want to pay $20 a month to make $20 in 8 months. Its
not worth it.

If you want your songs to clear faster, upload in batches.
Take my word for it. It will take days instead of months for
you, if you upload more than 6 or so.

But no. Don't expect to make money. If anything it gets you
attention, and kinda gives you an indecation of how people
respond to your shit (which is almost as good as money if
you market yourself properly).

I had a couple offers to publish my shit in small labels and
compolations. I haven't actually followed thru with it (just
because I don't have the cash to pay for postage and extra
cd-r's and stuff).
