well nothing is so strange and surprising as three
ep's....my fav albumis hot shots ii, the new one is more
guitar driven, it' darker, there's less humor in lyrics, and
def. it's a grower.
well worth checkin'

what kind of music is this? what are they comparable to?

they're brit-pop with a slightly breakbeatsy bent to their
sound... not that they really have to much electronics in
their songs (they have some, though), but they just kind of
play rock with a cross between a beatlesy and airy (as in
the band Air) vibe...

comparable to Simian, Band of Bees, Super Furry Animals,
the Flaming Lips (kind of)... etc.

beta band are a great band, i'm a bit disappointed with the
new single assessment especially guitar style that reminds
me a bit of U2...
anyway i saw them live once and they're great, my favourite
remains their first album, to me the most original and
experimental stuff they did.
3 ep's are great stuff too..
a bit less about hot shots II

cheers.

yes they are marvelous!!!!!!!!!! if u get the chance to go
see the betas, do!

shame the crowd werent up for more of a dance but they were
near perfect imo. the maclean dude on keyboards and tables
was outstandin and seemed totally excited through the whole
set. standout track was lion thief for me. the finale i
forget but ended with two drumkits battling it out -
fantastic.

i had a wikd time :)
