I dunno if anyone else here listens to U2, but if anyone
does, what do you think of the album Pop? Personally I think
it's awesome, definately in their top 3 in my opinion...
it's a great rock/techno album, and all the songs are
great... also, Zooropa is awesome, but not as good in my
opinion... anyways, what's your opinions?

I know this is a electronica board, but lets talk about some
rock music...

oh dear what? U2 are good... The Joshua Tree and Achtung
Baby are awesome albums, as is Pop, and Zooropa...

got to say its not my thing. but if you like them then thats
cool by me. it makes me laugh cos everyone seems to think
that they've got the best taste in music, whereas they
probably don't. its ok to like u2, but there are things i
wouldn't touch with a shitty stick. unless you've actually
heard something you can't say it's shit .

U2 were the first real band I was obsessed with... I'm not
as obsessed, well I'm not obsessed period, but I still like
them... they wrote a lot of good music... their new album is
not that great...

funkmaster,

another u2 fan here, I have over 60 cds(singles, albums, and
live discs). they were also my first band that I got into
heavily. favorite albums october, joshua tree, achtung
baby. another favorite of mine is st. stephens at the
point, double live cd around 88 or 89. pop i don't like so
much and after hearing that stuck in the moment song well I
just don't know...
the old singles are amazing to everything from rattle and
hum and before.

I like The Joshua Tree the best... from the old stuff I like
Under a Blood Red Sky best, and October is the best studio
recording... I own all their studio cds pretty much, and a
few singles from pop and achtung baby...

was that shite alter ego he had? macphisto?-its as if the
cunt had never seen bowie during his ziggy phase. what a

I have a lot of U2 albums and singles and stuff, but my
opinion of them as artists and people varies all the time...
I think The Joshua Tree, Acthung Baby and Pop are the best
albums, and the book 'U2 At The End Of The World' is great
for fans... but the new stuff is terrible and they have had
a LOT of dodgy moments in their career

U2 had their day...I liked them.
But I say step aside....

bob from somewhere in notts on 2001-12-29 03:20 [#00064680]

hey perhaps they should reinvent themselves, kinda like
kylie or cher....................x

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2001-12-29 05:26 [#00064692]

yeah, their new album is crap... and I read that book 'U2 at
the end of the world'... like three times... heh, I liked
it... but I don't listen to U2 much these days, I've moved
on to other stuff...
