It's not WHAT you use, it's HOW you use it!

Thank you for the advice rudster and druken mastah. Do you
know of any decent vst for effects? For modifying your
sounds in a wave editor?

Ambient must haves:

Sun Ra.

Ohmboyz delay.

Muon Tau Pro (for SOSW type sounds).

Absynth (version 1 is fine).

Sunra is perfect for ambient and 100% free!
(only a little bit hard to control)
also check reaktor, it had some really cool "ambient
generators" or maybe AbSynth2 for some lovely evolving
patches

Yeah, it's hard to replicate what you do with it. Good for
filling in gaps when playing live though (audiobulb's VSTi
can do the same, but in a glitcher way).

Absynth is great for just holding down a note or chord and
listening to it subtly change over time.

Absolutely agree.
I don't know those Audiobulb's VSTi's, but they sound
interesting! Gotta look for those...

Click here to DL. It's free.

Only criticism is that it's a bit CPU hungry for what it
does, but I like it.

ye that AB vst is great for glitchez, but only thing i mind
is cos it's not controllable well.

Fortunately, it doesn't seem to be random at all (it must
use a table of constant "random" numbers for noise etc.), so
whatever you do with it, it will be the same next time you
load it up. I know what you mean about the lack of control
though- it's hard to predict (even when you've used it for
hours) how exactly turning a knob will alter the sound.

exactly...i didn't say that's random,but just that i canno't
predict what the controls are and what will they do next
time i twiddle them.
i sudgest the dewd who made that AB generator could do some
improovements.
haha, tho i doubt that will happen...

cheerz Ceri JC
